  1. Buy your own 3D printer so you don't have to pay commission. Costing less than one grand, it'll allow you to modify to your heart's content. There's a printing shop in Holborn which can make your kits as well as advising you on the best printer
  2. I woul like to know if this great project is complete? If so, how much is it and what are the skill requirements?
  3. Thanks! What track plan would you all recommend? 2'by 4' is the size.
  4. Just out of interest, is un-braced 18mm Ply from Autoprotec on Amazon ok?
  5. And the other hobby is... Could you please send it over with some photos and a description? It's for a free booklet style magazine I'm creating.
  6. Where would I go about getting these timbers?
  7. I realise that this is irrelevant (ish), but can I have some specific suppliers for baseboard plywood and the necessary battens, please?
  8. Just meant it was getting slightly weird. Sorry if anyone was offended.
  9. Because I volunteer at a local school, I have been asked to create a series of 1-hour modelling classes for some students. Space is not a luxury, so no magnum opus for the school gym! Just paper-work and maybe a small layout. This couldn't be bigger than 4' long, max. 2' wide and this is subject to permissions.
  10. I live in London so am limited to Hamley's and the London Transport Museum for purchases, one carrying a very limited (LT related) selection and the other only offering Hornby products at an overpriced RRP. Does anyone have suggestions for buying locos and coaches 'on the cheap'?
  11. Well, the layout will be taken a little forward, creating enough space. 4 Sidings might be enough then... Otherwise, two full-lengths and 4 half ones The double slip may be difficult, but I'll see Thanks RJS! It is just wonderful that long trains can also be put in! Like those six-coach ones or sensible length mainline trains.
  12. Well, RJS, it was well worth the wait! However, I might only retain one or two full-length roads with the others being two short-length roads. I have the luxury of 4' at the widest...
  13. Thank you, ejstubbs. I'll modify the plan by extending the top and making the bottom platform a yard, maybe. I don't know how to solder.
  14. This sign says that you can take an exit in 800m for D34, accessing Chavagne St. Jaques and Chatres
  15. Well, there isn't the need to run all the stock on the layout (at the same time) but I do need to run a couple, hence why I have decided to go for BR. Johnster has helped me through this process, so I think he knows more than me! P.S. Where's Johnster gone?
