  1. This is already looking a nice project Mark and one to follow ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Can't beat a Lack shelf - what's the overall scenic section when you subtract 2 x FY's? I believe you have a imminent deadline on this so it will be a great example of what can be built in a very short space of time. Watching with interest...
  2. Great to see the layout at DEMU and have a quick chat - very inspirational and demonstrates 7mm in a relatively small space is achievable ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  3. Great to finally see the layout Martin and have a brief chat with you (It was with David Long just as the show was closing!) Looks fabulous ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

    Kyle Railex 2023

Thanks Will - Failing that it is pencilled in for the excellent SWAG gathering in Taunton next year!

    Kyle Railex 2023

Many thanks for your kind comments Will. Not sure your location but itโ€™s next outing this year will be the St Neots show in October this yearโ€ฆ
  6. Sad to read this - enjoyed seeing his superb layouts and always nice to chat with Peter at exhibitions. Thoughts are with his family in these difficult times.
  7. Looking forward to see this layout at DEMUโ€ฆ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

    Kyle Railex 2023

Many thanks Mikkel. All credit to Mr Chris Nevard of course for the photo. TBH, the barriers were offered by the Railex Team - we just agreed a suitable line on the day setting up as being a pesky Architect I wanted to align my layout with Freshwater, next door. As I get older my OCD gets worse ๐Ÿซข๐Ÿ˜…
  9. Just an update on the back of this weekend's superb RailEX 2023 in Aylesbury. Great show with nice mix of quality layouts and trade - honoured to be amongst the line up and to have made the front cover of the show guide. Thanks to Tim, David and all the team for hosting and looking after us all weekend. Thank you for all the kind comments and it was great to finally meet some people who have either been following my diatribes on here and/or saw the layout in Model Rail magazine. Think the size threw people when they saw it in person - hopefully they don't feel short changed! Next outing for Kyle is St Neots in October....meantime I need to turn my attention back to 7mm and get Wenford ready for the Uckfield show. More later... Pete
  10. Big thank you to Tim, David and all the team for hosting a great show and looking after us all weekend. A very enjoyable two days and I was very pleased to see Old Parrock win the best layout in show award which had got my vote. Great layouts and good selection of trade too so a great balance. Thanks to everyone for their kind comments on Kyle too and those that helped out run a few trains so I could stretch my legs! Pete
  11. ...meanwhile a 27 was seen heading South after crossing the Solent. Great show and good to be part of the 2mm gathering.
  12. Layout set up all weekend, been testing and trying out some new train formations. Look forward to the show ๐Ÿ™‚ Pete
  13. Am hoping to make it to DEMU this year as Avanti trains scuppered it last year cancelling a load of trains from London on the day ๐Ÿฅบ Looking forward to see the layout ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  14. Fabulous news Rob - In the calendar - looking forwards...๐Ÿ‘
  15. Great to meet you and chat last week at SWAG Mark. The layout looks fabulous ๐Ÿ˜„
  16. Another +1 to say a big thanks to Rob and the SWAG team for hosting a great event. Pasty and a slice of cheesecake - wot's not to like. Quality layouts and trade too and in a nice informal atmosphere. Listened to the footie on the drive home to London too and caught that shocking rain on the M4 - not ideal for trying to conserve battery life on an EV! So good to finally put faces to names, some after 15 years speaking on RMWeb ๐Ÿ˜ณ as well as seeing familiar faces. My first time at SWAG and looking forward to returning next year but with a layout...subject to Rob's confirmation. Thank you all - well worth the 320 mile round trip ๐Ÿ‘ Pete
  17. Checked in at The Lethbridge Arms and having some pre show beers and sweets. Looking forward to my first SWAG visit tomorrowโ€ฆ
  18. That sounds a good shout! It might mean you having to lose that inch off the siding platform/building too I guess for continuity of line. I have built my own 3mm ply boards for my current 7mm layout but put the structural outriggers on the back face...but decided to use TH's for the next one for convenience! Lovely layout and really enjoy this thread so thank you! Pete
  19. Nice progress! Any plans to hide the verticals between baseboards? Only ask as I have a set of TH baseboards for my next project so am pondering how to try and lose them in the back scene!
  20. No rooms available for 22nd - just checked!
  21. Fab pics Mark. Glad the exhibition went well ๐Ÿ‘Œ Last time I posted on this thread there was talk of a new 2mm layout ๐Ÿ˜œ
  22. Did you take that photo in Australia Rich? ๐Ÿ˜œ Nice work - good to see traction again on this....

Great to finally see the layout and talk with you guys. Cracking modelling! Thanks for letting me have a look behind the scenes. Look forward to see it again at SWAG and Uckfield! Pete
