    Pretty confused here! Do I move to N gauge and start a small fictional modern era layout? Do I stick with OO and buy a Dapol Class 59 and A4 to add to my existing stuff? Or do I move to O gauge and buy Dapol's amazing forthcoming Class 08?????

    I bought a wireless pet cam the other day, that links to the home wifi and which you can look at via your smartphone or tablet when out and about. Advertised as 'easy to set up'. Now, after days of frustration, stress and abject failure to get it to work, we are having to send it back. Just don't understand enough about how this kind of thing works. That's why I think that 'technology' is really only for the young and clever, who are now the new elite in this game.

    Really impressed with this N-gauge stuff. Couldn't help mucking around with some layout planning software this evening and pondering if I should 'dip my toe'...

    has been reading about the Wolf of Badenoch. It pains me to say it but the LNER had some brilliant loco names, much better than a collection of stately homes or shipping companies!

      It's called 'Caller ID Spoofing' and is used by marketing firms to hide the true calling number. Very big in the USA but increasingly common in the UK too.

      I think you're probably right. I enjoy it once I'm actually doing it - and of course when it's done, I can stand back and say "I did that" and feel good about it. I must try harder, I think.
