  1. Rod the photos are great thank you for posting them and I hope you recover from your operation.
  2. Thank you Rod and Howard for info on the layout room and layout track plan. I have been following your layout for a while and it is very well done and nicely detailed. Both of you have done a fine job and you should be proud of it. Michael
  3. Rod the layout is looking good, as usual and Howards photos show it off well. I do have a question though, what size is the room the layout is in. Do you have a track plan that you could post. Michael C.
  4. I do not know a lot about point rodding but what I see what you have done it looks good, Maybe on my next layout I will attempt it. Cheers Michael
  5. About two years ago I was thinking of modeling the Hayling Island branch in 7mm and did a lot of research. I found some videos on you tube of the line that where very interesting and informative. Plus I found a lot of photos on Google as well both in Colour and B/W I ended up doing something else but thought this info maybe of help to you. Cheers
  6. As I have said before and I will say it again. Superb looking layout Rod.
  7. It is coming along Martyn, looks good.
  8. Congratulation Chris on the article on CWM Bach in the Aug. 2018 Railway Modeller.

  10. Hi Rod and Howard The tunnel looks great now that Howard has finished it. The telegraph poles have reminded me I have to order some for my layout, Thank you. As for the coal merchants name, here is the one from my layout. Cheers Michael
  11. Hi Rod. The tunnel looks excellent, you and Howard do nice work. The Jinty looks great. Cheers Michael
  12. I have been following this thread for awhile now and was wondering what had happened to you. I'm glad to see your back Martyn and a great job done on the Signal box, even if it is a Southern one. Stay with the Western line. :>) Cheers Michael
  13. I acquired one as well with out lights. I like what you have done to the interior. It has given me some great ideas for mine. Cheers Michael
  14. Great looking loco on a great looking layout. Cheers Michael
  15. Hi Rod The tunnel is looking good, nice and dark in side and once Howard is finished it will look grand. Look forward to seeing what you and Howard will do next on your layout. Cheers Michael
  16. Can't wait to see it all finished Rod, Those are two fine looking locos to go along with the fine looking layout. Cheers Mike. Thank you Brian.
  17. Hi Howard I realize that the camera angle is low and from an angle that normally would not be seen while looking at the layout, but I have seen photos taken by you and Rod of trains coming and going from the tunnel and as Rod has said you see to much light at the end of the tunnel. You have done a great job of the new tunnel mouth and I was just giving some suggestions that would improve the look when taking photos. Please do not take it the wrong way. You and Rod are doing a great job on the layout, I admire it and it has given me much inspiration and ideas for my own 7mm layout. (see attached photo) Cheers Michael
  18. I agree nice weathering on the Minks and the 16Ton, Chris. Cheers Michael
  19. Also ballast the track for another foot or so as well. Cheers Michael
  20. Looking at the photo of the new tunnel mouth, I can see the black flat at the other end of the tunnel. If you put a printed back drop of a hill side even a photo of one in that area then when you take a photo as you have for this shot it would look like the other end of the tunnel. Cheers Michael
  21. Here is a scene on one of my North American layouts where the tracks went through a wall into my staging area. I used a bridge to hide the opening but did a dummy wall paint the same sky blue and a building to give the scene depth and hide the lack nothing on the other side of the opening. I hope this is helpful Also I like to say that I admire your layout, very nicely done. Cheers Michael
  22. Here is a drawing showing what I mean. Cheers Michael
  23. Hi Rod If you made end wall that was made to represent the tunnel exit at staging yard end. It can be cut with the shape of the tunnel mouth. Then do a small section of scenery just past it on the wall. So when you look through the tunnel from the layout side you see darkness with a little bit of light coming from the other end of it and scenery just past it. Hope this is of some help. Cheers Michael
  24. Hi Rob If you come across any steel blacked chain that matches, the Dapol, Lionheart chain, could you please let me know as it is hard to find 7mm items here in Canada. finding time for the hobby can be difficult at times. I hope you find time soon as I like to see what your next project will be. The attached photo is my 7mm layout Gwendraeth. Cheers Michael
