  5. I'm very aware of the scale, I'm simply pondering if there is anything of value in the kit as a donor when I build a 4mm wagon. Apart from the Obsidian etch we have already discussed on this thread (but which I've still not seen), and the transfers and buffers available form Andy Hart, I'm not aware of any other detailing kits for these - if I build one I'll probably do my own etched bits. Jon
  6. Sorry to dig up such an old thread, but recycling is all the rage, so.... Does anyone know if the Dapol-produced ex-airfix Interfrigo is flash free? I've seen a sugestion elsewhere that the moulds are a bit tired, and that I might be better looking for an older Airfix production - which is OK, as I'm probably not going to use all that much if anything from it. Jon

  13. To Kent A van as a fishermans store and a coach as part of a house (one of many) at Dungeness. A coach at (IIRC) Rye Harbour J
  14. A few from Didcot - I believe the BZG has been broken up for parts - that the example at the Severn Vally is the recipient. Jon

He's been thrown in the brig!

  18. Yes the O guage coaches are tempting - unfortunately the Birdcages were one of his early ecthed kits, so no seperate body and chassis, which means he would have to go right back to the drawing board (literally - no CAD for Dave) and start again to do these in 7mm - I know that he wants to do them in the senior scale. Jon
  19. As a teenager I used to help Dave Hamersley of Roxey Mouldings fairly regularly at exhibitions, and about 15-20 years ago I aquired from him a number of miss-etched coaches to practice my soldering on. Fortunately these two survived unbuilt long enough for me to be finally able to do them justice - so off the workbench in the last 6 months have been a pair of push-pull driving trailers. One is etched in 20thou (not 12) and the other lost its V hangers to the etching bath, but both have built up quite nicely. I now need to decide between going back to Dave and buying all the castings (and bogies), or simply sticking them on ebay as abandoned projects. Joon
