  1. At the moment the only way I can see is to go through all the tour operators sites and cross reference with Realtime Trains to check for timings.
  2. Obviously not. The suburban coaches were a welcome surprise and 2 sets are now running around my layout. Their release was nearly 6 months back. The end of the year / early part of next year could see Bachmann 94xx, Dapol Mogul, Hornby Large Prairie and Rapido / Model Rail 16xx all being released within a relatively short time frame, but at the moment very little of interest.
  3. I'd be happy to be a customer if there was anything to buy. This drought of new Western Region models which are promised but are taken so long to deliver means my mattress is getting higher and higher
  4. My worry is that the current rather lean number of new releases will fail to generate enough income for Bachmann to able to authorise the production run. I sincerely hope that large sales numbers of class 90s, rep specials and J72s and hopefully early next year 158s will generate enough to ensure production of the 94xx.
  5. Brake tenders were used for a time in the early 1970s on the Cwmbargoed - Aberthaw runs. I think the wagons were a mixture of fitted and unfitted.
  6. For me this EP doesn't have the same WOW factor as the EPs for the Bachmann 94xx. The detail doesn't seem to be so fine. There also seems to be the problem (As with the 42xx) of the upturn to the front buffer beam possibly related to the boiler stays.
  7. Class 66 special liveries have arrived according to Hornby web site,
  8. Hornby now showing additional liveries available.
  9. Having just watched the James May programme on Hornby I thought what a pity that this dispute drags on when other manufactures / retailers seem more inclined to accept that competition exists and that sales really matter.
  10. I suspect it is an assembly mistake. We'll probably see BR versions with GWR labels.
  11. Can Anybody confirm which 122 will be Green with Speed Whiskers? Dapol catalogue shows 7D-015-002 as W55000 with Speed Whiskers Hattons and Tower show 7D-015-005 as W55004 with Speed Whiskers. However with Hattons the DCC fitted and sound fitted versions show 7D-015-005 as W55000 with SYP and 7D-015-002 as W55004 with Speed Whiskers.
  12. I have 3 x 94xxs, 1 x 117, 1 x GWR 150 and 1 x GWR 158 on order so no expenditure at all this year heading to Bachmann from me.
  13. Hi Oliver Do the BR versions come with running numbers to be fitted?
  14. Hugh Longworth's book on GWR and LNER passenger stock inherited by British Railways does give the basic layout and dimensions for C75 and E135. I find the layout of his book much clearer and comprehensive in respect of the GWR passenger stock (At least that which made it into BR) than Russell. It does however not have the photographs and more detailed drawings of Russell.
  15. Any indication of the sound decoder to be fitted to the SF locos? At around £70 over the DCC ready version have Bachmann a TTS style sound decoder or if a full blown ESU V5.0 is fitted are the sound versions something of a relative bargin?
  16. An all third would sell well but Hornby haven't announced one yet.
  17. 10 to a compartment in Third Class and very often more. The luggage space in the brake would often also be filled with standing passengers on Barry Island returns to the valleys.
  18. Latest Bachmann Times indicates that an EP sample of the 94xx is in a list (Also including the Midland 1P, 117 and 121 24/1 and 414 (2HAP)), which have been received or are awaited.
  19. 116 and 120 DMUs BR 21t Mineral Wagons
  20. My point was that 6 months is a long time for a manufacturer to have no meaningful items to sell. Bachmann need Hatton's and other box shifters more than ever at this point in time to help shift existing stock. Bachmann are heading for a lean time.
