  1. About 1990 at Pontypridd. Complete with first class to Barry Island and toilet.
  2. Just received my first from Derails. I coupled up by laying the coaches on their side on a clean flat surface. There's better ability to exert gentle pressure on the underside of the coupling. Haven't uncoupled yet. 116 for me as well.
  3. Kernow newsletter today saying they are arriving Monday 22nd June.
  4. Seems very quite on the Kernow website. The suspense is making me jittery.
  5. See posts on this thread around 11th May. There are some generic sound files out there but I think I will wait for Legoman Biffo's
  6. e mail notification from Bachmann just received. Arriving in Barwell in the next few days.
  7. Kernow have an virtual exhibition sale this weekend. Limited Edition Bachmann GBRf 66 709 "Sorrento" with MSc logo £99.99
  8. RAILS are showing 6145 arriving between 1st and 14th June.
  9. I think the 108 tooling was a good representation generally. The fact that Bachamnn were able to offer alternative cab fronts for the 108 suggested that there were either separate moulds or alternative inserts for the cab fronts as per the 37, 40 etc. nose fronts. I just wondered whether those moulds could be reused and would suit the 117 body profile. If the cab fronts are all new tooling as suggested I hope that the ability to offer alternatives as on the 108 has been considered.
  10. The question may have been asked somewhere on this forum but I am still not clear on whether the existing cab front toolings for the Bachmann 108 which cater for both the large route indicator box on the roof and the smaller destination indicator box on the roof can match the body profile of the 116, 117 and 118. The question I am asking therefore is if anybody can confirm is that Bachmann have had to manufacture a different cab front tooling for the 117 than the existing large route indicator box version for the 108 because of different body profiles.
  11. Anybody know of any sound projects planned for the 117 with plux 22 decoders?
  12. I believe it was the original intention to commission the 116. Here's hoping.
  13. When 8 pin sockets were fitted to Bachmann 57xx and 8750 panniers from about 2005 a fairly large chunk of ballast weight was removed from the left hand pannier in order to accommodate the 36-553 decoder with harness which was then the Bachmann offering. In fact the Hornby R8249 was a better fit. Since then direct 8 pin decoders such as Hattons 8 pin DCR fit without any need of the void A good chunk of ballast may then be re-fitted to give better haulage capacity.
  14. I suppose it's some comfort that so far the RRP for previously announced items has not gone up that much. e.g. the 117 from £309.95 to £314.95 (About 1.5%). Probably Bachmann will announce incremental price increases to go with incremental quarterly announcements. At one stage prices shot up by about 30% in less than a year. Lack of production due to the increasing health problem developing will no doubt put further pressure on.
  15. Sounds like they haven't left China yet.
  16. Incorrect. All models ordered before 15/11/2019 are to be airfreighted as stated by Hattons.
  17. Hattons are air freighting the sound fitted versions ordered by customers prior to 15/11/2019. These are yet to arrive never mind those that are being dispatched by sea. With passenger flights being suspended I don't know what the implications now are for air freight.
  18. That's what I think is needed. Hatton's Dave is active on this site so that's why I posted it here.
  19. I ordered 2 EWS sound fitted in January last year. When the option to pay an additional £10 to have your individual model air freighted was announced in the autumn I ordered an additional DB sound fitted with £10 surcharge. It was then stated that all models ordered before 15/11/2019 would be air freighted without the additional charge. I am therefore awaiting 3 sound fitted which I expect to be air freighted, but there has been no confirmation that any more have actually left China after the initial air freighted batch. Hatton's timeline diagram shows that shipping generally has not yet happened. It therefore seems likely there will be a further long wait. I think a statement or update from Hattons is due.
  20. Having just looked at mine I realise that I removed the bogie at one end to remove the kadee type. I then fixed an nem pocket directly to the triangular opening which is under the bogie itself. Any kadee or suitable tension lock should then fit into the pocket at the correct height.
  21. Mine were all supplied with kadee type couplings attached and spare tension lock type in the box. I have just fitted a tension lock at one end of the two outer wagons in the rake. It may be that the drop type tension lock coupling (as fitted to Bachmann Mk 1s) would be a better match.
  22. Could someone enlighten what metrics are because for me it is the new system of measurement following on from feet and inches or pounds shillings and pence.
  23. Latest Bachmann Times gives details of Kernow Limited Edition 117 (35-500Z) and 121 (35-525Z) in GWR 150 special livery (Chocolate and Cream). Now in production!!!! New PluX22 Decoder sockets have also been introduced.
  24. Latest delivery dates now on Hatton's website
