Does one charge the toffs in 1st class more for a drink than the riff-raff?

Or does one sell them wines and spirits while the lower orders only get to swill beer?

Depends whether it is in a straight glass or not!

This picture of the preserved carriage clearly shows the partition. The partition is at the correct end on the model only the buffet isn't. (See the earlier comments on this thread.)

Maybe they need a Snob Screen so that those in First may be served their G&T away from those in Third?

Probably because it's the most ornate version of the LNER's various legends, and covers that transitional period between the Grouping and Big Four styles; representing the last elegant act of the songwriter's art, before the bean counters began their inexorable march into cost savings.

Yes, those songwriters did some great work for the LNER.  Gershwin used to be good pals with Gresley and we won't mention Noel Coward!

Oh crap, you're right - it's defaulted to my home currency. I get annoyed when it does that - if I'm ordering from a UK site it goes to a UK address, from a UK credit card.

Blackwells, whom I love, are particularly bad for that.

My apologies. And yes, $146 is about one decent beer session in inner London...

No problem, it catches me out as well as Accurascale do it as well.   Hope to see you at the Windsor show next week.

Right, but the pricing is awful. The image says 100 quid for 150 quid of value, but the price online that gets added to your basket is 146 quid.

"Oh look, I saved the price of a half pint in the london suburbs for a box where nothing is likely to be the same era, and I can't even guarantee the livery of the locomotive".

This is why I contend their inventory isn't particularly high. There have been much, much better deals on OR (and Hornby) products in past years - 50% and even 60% off as they tried to shift stock. Now we're lucky to see 30%, maybe 40% on a big steamer.

This one is more expensive than the box contents https://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/products/gwr-locomotive-r3534-and-assortmen-of-vehicles

The price in your basket is $146 not GBP, so more than a couple of pints!  But if you want a J27, being sent a Radial won't help.

Because, people dont have the skills? It may not be rocket science to you, but it IS difficult to a majority of people.

Most things are difficult until you try.  But some things get easier with practice and some things require a friend.  But first you have to try!  Now to those Slater's hoppers I put in the attic in 1990!

Can anyone tell me where the "Accurascale ACC2826 20 ton Diag P7 Coal Hopper wagons in NCB red " wagons were employed or to be seen.

I have ordered the black ones, covering South Yorks, but I am wondering whether to add these three to my collection-

I believe red was used in the North East Coalfield, in particular, Ashington, but at other pits in the North East.

    Feel free, old darling!

It is an unfortunate factor in the human condition that there are those amongst us who like to make life more difficult for themselves.

(Spoken in the plummy tones of 'Rumpole of the Bailey' - with whom I have just had the pleasure of reliving the past)!

My verdict for perfect running? Live frogs, and EVERY single length of rail directly connected to busbars by heavy gauge copper wire.

    JMHO,

    CJI.

Good old Rumpole, an England that is no more, maybe  it never was, but we thought it was.

I'm not sure anyone's mentioned the additional dumb buffers on LNER 986. Perfect for working with chaldrons.

That was my thoughts, one pre-ordered from the nice people with Scouse accents.

    Good price as well.

    Hi,

Am I right in thinking the intention was to produce loads for this range? (and the HYA's?)

I would like to get some loads for the rake of MHAs I've got (when I make them, they are always rubbish!) and I haven't found anyone doing them, unless the ones for the Hornby / Bachmann models will fit?

    Simon

The early HAAs have tie bars across the top which make it difficult to produce a load that will just drop in.  At least that was my take on comments made after release.  This of course would not be a problem for later types.  Perhaps some with the early types would be happy to remove the bars, as they wouldn't be seen when a load was carried.
