Has there been any news on the G5?
Still showing Q2 2023 for delivery.

I received three emails today from UPS telling me that the First and Last have been dispatched. Tracking says they will reach Nova Scotia by Tuesday, think the weather may have something to say about that, but I am looking forward to seeing them.
Well they arrived today, although the UPS driver couldn't quite make the walk to the door.
Models looks first rate, a great improvement on the Hornby offerings. I think the packaging looks good, it is not as lavish as others but functional and was well packed by Locomotion. The provided instanta couplings look for display only, but maybe I'm wrong.
Now I await a Class 56 and then all I will need is a Greg's Pastie and chips and I will be 19 again and watching the trains on Wearmouth Bridge!

31466 looks good and is also preserved so carrying on my theme of NYMR and preserved loco's I'm in.
It has however just dawned on me I have got more locos now than laid pieces of track 🤔
You have track? 😂

I may be wrong but I seem to recall that at the time the yellow sets were supposed to operate Tyne and Wear PTE services, but quickly ended up as a common pool with the other Newcastle allocated sets. However it's a long time ago and I am certainly no expert.
From what I remember there was a service every 20 minutes Newcastle - Sunderland but one of those was extended to Middlesbrough. I think one train a day went as far as Nunthorpe, which must have been a fun journey in a Pacer whether it was painted blue or yellow and white.
The LNER provided a Buffet car on Newcastle-Sunderland-Middlesbrough services. That must have been fun!

I would have gone for D, but only because you left out West Ham
Up the Hammers! 😁

I'd think that being used in Norfolk, the GER Teak would be a flatter colour!

If you are starting on the southern you must have exhausted the Beamish collection or its a long commute between the two......
Don't forget to pop into North Road on your way and look at the Q7!

Good to see a Poppy Red Northern on route 775/8 Sunderland to Consett is not included in the first batch. Used to catch them to visit my girlfriend of the time, in Consett. Was the journey from Hell, Almost a straight road to Chester Le Street and then a wait and then a trip around all the villages. If you came to a junction and it said turn left for Consett, you knew the bus would turn right! It was almost quicker to ride my bike after the rails on the Annfield Plain Branch were lifted!
If one were made I might have to buy it for old time sake!

Will the problems in China that have delayed the Cl 37 also delay the arrival of the Siphon Gs?

If they did a footballer one, 90% of potential buyers would be put off by the team chosen!
Unless it was West Ham!
Up the Hammers!

Just as a point of interest. Queen Adelaide was the consort of King William IV not George IV.
Wonder if Simon made any other mistakes?

Who made the T2/Q6? Was it Hornby?
I believe you are correct, but there is a big difference between the two.

Should have announced a NER T3 / LNER Q7 nobody is going to make one of those or are they? :-)

All depends on the degree of bending as my ideas aren't all that firm as yet but if anything it would be more likely to be Camperdowm Yard rather than Trafalgar Yard or some such revision.
I would have thought it would be an easy case to build for the Loco Coal set as they would not need a coal drop to unload and steam locos in the yard might have a coaling point.

The NE is LNER livery. They adopted the NER livery as they had so many wagons compared to the other constituents, and it would have been a big task to repaint them all.
Later replaced by the smaller version in the bottom left hand corner in the late 1930s. Although how many got that is the question. I doubt they would have been first in the queue for a repaint.
Jason
Not quite the North Eastern Railway used NER lettering the LNER used NE . The LNER continued to build the P7 wagon in some numbers so they may or may not have been the same shade of grey, but would have N E instead of NER. It has already been stated that LNER version will be in a later batch.

Well those Slaters kits will still be built (one day) but some interesting new items there that are not options with the kit. Also looking forward to having coal loads on the cards. Just waiting for the revised shipping options to place an order.
Loved the video with Paul walking off to the next new item, after the camera faded he walked to the Beamish Pub and had a bottle of dog (Newcastle Brown Ale) and this will be the next item OO gauge beer!

I'm thinking that this is not the top of my list and I am quite happy to wait and see. Although a NER version would be my choice and others have noted Locomotion are never in a rush to do discounts. They also appear to use gold leaf in the packing materials, judging by their shipping costs compared to others.

Hi Bishdurham,
We are just waiting to hear from the factory on when they will be on their way.
The first and last for Locomotion Models are due to be shipped with the next batch but we are awaiting further information.
We will provide updates as and when we know more.Hi Grimleygrid,
Gone a bit quiet with these? Although I thought Locomotion were getting ready.

Probably not something that would affect most but a bit of disappointment with the KR Models Iron Ore wagons tonight.
The wagons come with some quite nice instanter couplings. I’ve fitted a couple tonight and, when hooked together, they are barely long enough to stop the buffers hitting each other on straight track let alone round a curve. I’ve attached a photo with the bottom buffer heads touching and, as you can see there is hardly any angle between the two wagons.
I don’t know what size feet of radius they’d go round but I suspect it’s well in to double figures…
Looks like there was a need for sprung buffers after all. Which is a great pity.
