  1. I am currently working on a new 009 loco that I will be able to 3d print once we get the printers working again. Now this engine may be familiar and if it is then I have done a good job, If it isn't then there isn't much I can do. Anyway the loco is Douglas from the Talyllyn railway. It still isn't done but I am getting close.
  2. I took the image when the glue for the plants where drying, that is why there is white around the base of the plants
  3. I have made good progress on my cake box model and am nearly done for the project. I will end up posting all of my progress images once I make a new blog for the cake box challenge (as I cant find out how to post on the other blog apart from comments) and I will post that once I am done. have fun with whatever you are doing
  4. I will just post everything on a new topic once I am done. sorry if this annoys anyone
  5. it may sound stupid but after this new update to the website I cant find out how to post new content apart from comments. so it will be a while till I can update on my progress until I can find out how to post more. Sorry
  6. Welp I might as well give this challenge a go as I didn't last time. I have started the model, however I accidentally made it 19 cm long which is shorter than 8 inches but there isn't any rules in making your model smaller as it will still fit in the same box. Anyway I am rambling now so I will just start talking about my plan. My plan is to make a 19 by 19 cm layout with three levels, A river in front, A bridge in the middle (it then opens back up a bit just to see the river again) and a cliff with a waterfall at the back.
  7. Well its been a while since I have posted. Thats it no explanation, Anyway moving on. I have kit bashed a custom engine from the basis of a Royal Scot chassis, B12 body and tender and other pieces from different engines
  8. hi Corbs yeah I understand I didn't mean to get in the way or anything. I was just asking if anybody thought I should do it as I was really unsure and I like listening to peoples ideas. sorry if I was a nuisance.
  9. I just realised if I keep it as the b12 with outside pistons I could pass it of as 87546 from one illustration of the railway series I will just need to paint it light blue. but then again I wanted to go a bit insane on modifying
  10. I was going to do either one however the smoke deflectors are the unrebuilt ones that are basically squares
  11. it will have a b12 boiler, royal scot deflectors and loco chassis, 9f cab and either royal scot tender on 4f tender chassis or just the b12 tender. I may also make it a tank engine without the smoke deflectors and j50 tanks and cab/bunker
  12. I might as well put the choice up to everyone on here. I want to build a custom 4-6-0 but I need a boiler for the engine and I was going to get a b12s boiler. However I already have one of the old Hornby b12s in LNER green. the previous owner botched a new tender on it and reversed the polarity on the engine. It also doesn't run very well but I still kinda like it however I don't have any money and I would be kinda alright with using it to make a new engine and I would just like peoples opinions on if I should do it or not.
  13. I am sorry I havent posted recently as I havent really had anything new to report. However I will have more stuff to report in a couple weeks and then again during and after april
  14. Here is a quick image of my OO-9 loco and rolling stock so far. all the engines share the same chassis and I switch the body out for it. all I need to do now is finish some wagons and make or buy some couplings
  15. Sorry that I haven't posted recently, My laptop was broken and I have only just gotten it back in "working" condition. Anyway I managed to design my own class of narrow gauge quarry engine I still haven't come up with a name for the class just yet. The livery is inspired by the Thomas the tank engine Mid Sodor engine Atlas although my engine is longer. I took inspiration from a pre exsisting loco kit in the design of the dome and having the smokebox poking out the front but apart from that I just kinda smashed stuff together.
  16. I got my hands on a Bachmann rheneas yet for some reason I havent tested it yet so I will test it soon however the detail on it is great and it has a decent weight although it is a little small being hoe and not OO9 but it fits everything much better for the scale
  17. I was just looking back through another blog and I saw a post I made of my scratch built big bertha 0-10-0 and I thought I might as well share it the engine is cobbled together from three broken engines. being a triang 3f, a Bachmann royal scot and a Hornby railroad 9f. the triang one had a broken body and chassis but the tender was intact. The royal scot had a broken chassis an tender. and the 9f had a broken body. so without a plan I got the both the body and tender chassis of the 9f as well as the back of the cab. the boiler and cab of the royal scot and the tender of the 3f. It took me a while as I slowly lost intrest then picked it back up again but it came out well I think. I just need to make a headlamp
  18. I recently got my hands on one of the Kernow models s100 made by Bachmann Making it my second Kernow exclusive after one of their Dapol sentinels I bought I would highly recommend both of these engines. Both are at a decent weight, the s100 runs at the same speed as a Hornby austerity 0-6-0st and is almost silent, However the sentinel is a bit noisy but still a very good smooth runner. here is a quick link to see the sentinel running so you have an idea of the speed and sound. non of it has been edited so this is exactly how it runs.
  19. I have finished the model and have compared it to the original toy and I am very happy with how it turned out
  20. I managed to get it off. It was just clipped on but it was very annoying to get off
  21. I just thought to ask this now as I wanted to try it on my Dapol L&Y livery pug. I was wondering as I have seen people remover the guard over the piston rods and I was wondering if anybody would know how to do it and if so if they could tell me how.
  22. I am trying to figure out how to add full sized images so this is just a test
  23. I have finished painting Duke and am ready to attach the chassis and mounts
