If Messi/ Ronaldo/ Lewdowski had scored that he would have done so against a first class goalkeeper and have been surrounded by first class defenders. Face the facts. He is playing for Notts County v Oxford City. Hardly Barcelona/Juventus/ Bayern and that immediately indicates the status of both the striker and the goalkeeper. (maybe he should have been on his line) It was a reflex reaction and he got lucky. I agree that football is full of "lucky moments" and they can be game deciders but the quality players get "lucky" far more regularly that the 5th tier players. Maybe it has something to do with their natural talent and inherent skill set. It is for this that the media will proclaim "the genius" and exclude the guy from Notts County. That's life.

Norman Hunter was nothing but a thug but Francis Lee also worked on a very short fuse. The build up to Sunday's Man Utd v Leeds game centred on when the game was so different with games in the 60's and 70's. The teams would end up at 5 a side before half time now !!!! but it would have been called off long before that. Depends if you like the sanitised version of football that we are served up now or the physical contact game that some of us remember. Anyway, 6-2 against a defensively poor team is not to be sniffed at.
