Shipping is now a guessing game, containers are being transshipped in a number of European ports as the major shippers require their vessels back onto a return schedule asap, the days of anticipating a route of a vessel have long gone. What used to be 40/45 days from India etc are anywhere from 70 to 80+ days, we have just rebooked containers for the 9th time from one vessels as the dates have moved so many times, so I would say let the guys tell you when they have cleared customs which will give a far clearer date of arrival at their warehouse and even if they disclosed the vessel they were on it isn’t necessarily the vessel they will arrive in the UK on, TBH it’s a nightmare at the moment

Two questions 1- would these beauties run behind any other WR Hydraulics other than Westerns? 2 - what’s the best book to get more knowledge for the late 70s as to what carriages run on the WR obviously there will be inter regional stuff - but looking for info on formations etc TIA

Depends if you know what run on the WR and what number you can change to but as always as there are so many variations 🤭

Well it’s either slug it out or wait for another manufacturer to do one as previously stated BM don’t know that the pre TOPS blue exists, none of their recent releases I.e. 25/31/37/47 have released a pre TOPS blue with HC 🤷🏻‍♂️

Usual, unfortunately my era is always missed, TBH I would have already preordered one by now if available, so will wait out for the SLW to be delivered

Agreed but needs an update now and has been noted there are some errors

If they are having shipping issues like we are, then all I can say is good luck predicting any dates. The whole Red Sea issue has created a new situation with containers being dropped at different ports and picked up by another vessel, shipping times have slipped from an average of 40/45 days to 80+

A couple of Heljan 47 and a Bachmann 47 for comparison both look ok to me but what do I know 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

I will never profess to be an expert or do I worry whether my opinions count unlike a lot on here, I have just moved D1960 between a Heljan Hymek and a Dapol Western and TBH it looks OK. Whilst to the purist the shape isn’t right but it fits my era so I am content.

Solution is for a certain (Guinness based) company to take them over

I think I was looking at the DCC system and thought that was really out of the window however I may be able to stretch to this especially if I can sell y Dynamics on as well
