  1. Ellis are the new bearings to be on the axle ends or on the bogie side pivot points? ( these having a lot of side movement on the MK 1’s)
  2. Will the Kadee couplings be placed at the Kadee manufactures recommended height? The Darstead MK1’s coupling height is way too high, thus not able to couple to other stock.
  3. Tower models, Hattons plus many more. take a look at traders on the Gauge O guild web site.
  4. Having spoke to a gentleman on the Dapol stand on Saturday at the Kettering O gauge meet, he suggested the coaches would likely now appear in the Autumn.
  5. Nigel thank you for taking your time, input and information. It seems I’ll have to do some more bench work and testing. Nigel
  6. I’ve followed the above advice from you all, and success in doing the waltz. But I need to ask Nigel about his use of the electromagnet (watched his video) he used. What volts would it be and did you connect directly to the decoder or via a ‘buck converter’, resistors etc? You can gather I’m not too good with electronics. i have tried a 5 volt electromagnet but my decoder (zimo 645) now reads ‘error 2’ and reset! Any advice would most definitely be much appreciated, thanks Nigel
  7. I too agree that the sides look so much better and improved. If these are to be released sooner rather that latter I will also place an order for maroon also blood and custard coaches Nigel
  8. Is there any chance of a rerun of the Mark 1 coaches? Have sent a couple of emails about these but no response as yet thanks Nigel
  9. Thank you all for the suggestions. Those give me something different to try.
  10. I’m using Milliput for filling and ‘building up’ on models, but I would like to use another product (if it exists) for much finer / thinner parts of a model, ie; small holes? Does anyone have any suggestions, please? Nigel
  11. 1. Irdot-1 are not affected by lightning in an exhibition hall, well at least not on mine when at shows. 2. I use Heathcote and Blocksignaling both work well. Blocksignaling has different settings so easily adjusted. 3. Yes you can see where they are fitted into the track. Megapoints is another possibility, this relies on track occupancy Nigel
  12. Dave, looking great. comment, will the tender "coal" be removable, (i think it gives the appearance of being 'toy' like) Nigel
  13. Paul Brilliant, I've copied those CV's into my Class 15 and it's great to be able to show the differing head codes, something I know I would never have been able to achieve myself, there are just great.. The amount of unused capability of these decoders is amazing. Thank you Nigel

  15. Alan I tried using a ESU sound Decorder, bought in Canada, then tried to down load one of the free UK selection sounds only to discover that the North America ESU decoder will not allow uk sounds to be downloaded! Nigel
  16. Yy Paul, Thank you for your reply. I guess I've learnt something, as I did not know or realize that the early diesels used seperatly fitted tail oil lamps. Also a great deal to learn about DCC,! Regards Nigel
  17. Have been enjoying my loco for a number of weeks now, and like others on here, find everything about it just superb, (other manufacturers should take note), one thing - I have not been able to get to work are the red/ rear tail lights to work ( supplied with a DCC chip) can some one advise what I need to do! Thanks Nigel
  18. I am installing a ESU loksound L V 4.0 sound decoder into my Heljan class 40, o gauge, ok so all the wiring is either red or black, this I can work out, but when it comes to the head/tail lighting boards I need some help, advice or even photos. Should the lighting boards be replaced, ie LED's, or can it be modified to show the individual lighting that is used for the head and tail codes? Thanks in advance if someone has the answers Nigel
  19. Hi Guys, if you are looking for leaves you may want to take a look at www.Selkirkleaf.com. regards Nigel
  20. Steve, are any of you signals removable, i was thinking along the lines of an exhibition layout where singnals have to be removed, if so do you take out the servo and signal, as one, or just the signal...and how do you easily conect the two halves together? Or any ideas on how this might be achievied? thanks Nigel
  21. Well, the railway show was good, 1st time I had exhibited there. Used updated paid1.8 touchcab with iPad and iPhone (free version)on a Lenz 3.6, switched on and connected, no problem with the iPad , but experienced some movement of the speed graph, moving up and down!!, thought it could have been something to do with the loco,( had dirty pickups).Tried to configure loco list onto the iPhone from the iPad, but failed to achieve this? Locos in use list is good, easy to pick from main list too. Discovered that it is SO EASY to double head, just a couple of taps, just great. Switches are easy to control as well as crossing gates..... Must learn to open gates to allow trains to pass and not pass though! Jens I am we'll impressed ( as where the viewing public.....what?you are controlling the trains with an iPad!) Thanks for such a great product, and look forward to whatever you have in the pipeline...... Nigel
  22. Have just downloaded the 1.8 update, released today from iTunes and it looks good, just in time for use at the Edmonton railway show this weekend. Report back on Monday! Nigel
