  1. I freely confess I've had a few mishaps with my model railway controller, in the privacy in my own home. Turnng the volume up, when it should have been down, but nobody was around to witness the ensuing collisions. But in real life, and on camera? Oh dear!
  2. Neither was he the best choice of model for the lingerie.
  3. Derry Helicopters (flying to and from Derry airport) sounds like it got its business model from Yorkshire Airlines.
  4. Sag ihnen nicht den Namen deiner Katze, Hecht-helm!
  5. Next a view of Uranus from the Space Station?
  6. This was a big surprise today. There we were, minding our own business, driving past a farmyard in Whittonditch, Wiltshire. https://www.bing.com/maps/?cp=51.448833~-1.584968&lvl=15.6&style=s The nearest railway station is Hungerford, about five miles away. But as my son & I drove part the farmyard, for a split-second, out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw a railway coach next to a barn! So I says to son, "I think I just saw a railway coach in that farmyard". He give me a look like "Dad's really loosing his marbles even faster than I thought". But on the way back, we had time to stop and look properly. Sure enough, from the road, through some trees, we could see this: Zooming in: Looks like it says "NORD" on the side. Not a UK coach?
  7. I always wondered what "going off in a huff" would sound like.
  8. The BBC have just released a documentary about that.
  9. Goodness gracious me! I've been on that. Picton to Wellington.
  10. Part of it did survive. https://sdjr.co.uk/
  11. JS Bach? Wasn't he a founding member of Bachmann Turner Overdrive?
  12. Not that Roman soldier again? https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/whats-on/st-georges-day/9-things-you-didnt-know-about-st-george/
  13. I didn't know either, so I looked it up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concorde#Flight_characteristics
  14. Philip Henslowe: Mr. Fennyman, allow me to explain about the theatre business. The natural condition is one of insurmountable obstacles on the road to imminent disaster. Hugh Fennyman: So what do we do? Philip Henslowe: Nothing. Strangely enough, it all turns out well. Hugh Fennyman: How? Philip Henslowe: I don’t know. It’s a mystery.
  15. I refer my honourable colleagues to https://sirbacon.org/shakespearemyth.htm 😉
  16. ...and when they perform Hamlet, it would be the Royal Danish Bacon Company.
  17. Have you found an OO-gauge floating barge and crane to work on sea wall repairs?
  18. David, many thanks, that's solved the puzzle over how GWR had fitted that many sidings into the space south of the station. On the older map, south of the station building, there was a triangle of ground with trees, which I'd assumed was the limit. From your general plan, it's now obvious it has been used to both extend the sidings and reduce their curvature. Here's my "Mark 3" attempt, using the extra space, along with a goods shed, the station building, footbridge and a signal box.
  19. Yes, and the Ratio kit of a round GWR water tower. https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/17716/528-Ratio-GWR-Water-Tower-Round-Type
  20. Just played with that. Nearly everything above FL400 is private business jets, most at FL410. Just a very small handful of BA flights at FL410 to FL430. Most of what I can see at FL450+ is a Gulfstream. It reminds me of a story from a friend of a friend on traffic control at Prestwick, perhaps 30+ years ago. One transatlantic flight requested permission to descend from FL600 feet to FL400 . "Say again?" was said twice. Might be an urban myth? Or a U2/SR71?
  21. Not just Longbridge, but even some very expensive brands. I can still remember going down Hythe Road in Willesden, c.1970, coincidently past the Mulliner Park Ward factory. Where they built the body shells for Rolls Royce. I was shocked to see spare body shells lying outside the factory, all going dark brown with rust. It seemed a very strange way to build a "quality" product. But it was "standard operating procedure" at the time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulliner_Park_Ward
