  1. Now that would indeed be very purchasable!!!!!! Now all we really need is some L&B freight stock, and happiness reigns
  2. One can certainly hope so @e30ftw . I doubt the NG16, but the Double Fairlie should not be to hard considering the basic CAD work has been done for the OO9 model already
  3. One of my mates is building a 009 layout (on display at the levin model train show 5-6 May) An I did say a hunslet in 7mm would be great I want/need one even if it did not run on the L&B Yes the driver and fireman are a bit over size, but presumably the modelu figures already available will fit
  4. But I want/need one of these https://news.Bachmann.co.uk/2024/04/Bachmann-europe-launches-its-first-british-7mm-narrow-gauge-range-Bachmann-narrow-gauge-ng7/?fbclid=IwAR1cWa_uToaLxyeMDs_f5C6MnVmDyp02Tzl8xELHdHYCLcKCvEwL5W0lrxk_aem_AUGEoNuHwKal2gl0zKSYIBOAqIPigXuCFAsJrkFfRPY4oo1O7vxPn00cyBmnqBNLArfUdMjIieeiuL_k4lHx8rB6
  5. Not a lot has been happening due to a lack of track, well points really which are on back order. Taw has been running around in circles. Have ordered some L&B couplings from NZFineScale https://nzfinescale.com/product-category/oo9-couplers/ In terms of layout planning I have giving serious consideration to making the station displayable from either side, so that at one exibition you would see the back of the station building and at the next the front of the station building. plenty to contemplate
  6. A friends OO9 layout that is progressing quicker than mine
  7. where did you get the file for the 3d print bodies? what are you going to use to power the 7mm one? cheers john
  8. How about posting some pictures of each meeting?
  9. so amongst other things done over the weekend, I painted Taw's hand rails at the loco cab. Wanted some "shiny parts where hands grasp them as the driver and fireman climb into the cab
  10. decided to weather the insides a wee bit and paint the brake stand
  11. At a model show this weekend, so track getting laid on the return curves But someone took my picture while I was doing some painting doing some weathering
  12. Well from small beginnings and all that. The layout itself will be a roundy roundy. The curves at the ends will be un sceniced (well at this stage at least!!!!!!! So they are as good a place to start. 4 modules, each module having 90% of a 653mm radius curve with a 5cm straight at either end Magic train box car and minex open wagon posed for effect. track laying to commence next weekend
  13. Today is Waitangi day (public holiday in New Zealand, so it was off to Carterton to play trains with some like minded modellers on a 1:48 NZ Bush tramway layout. Of course Taw and her carriages came along for the ride.
  14. they are done in 1:64 1880 NZR Couplers Finely cast NZR couplers designed to work with Back Bar Models, NZ Finescales and AKF 1902, 1930s and 1970s versions of the NZR coupler Available in 64th 48th and 9mill scales https://marksmodelworks.wordpress.com/kits-and-bits/
  15. So there has been a slight redesign of some of the leg bits, but the tank is progressing
  16. 124 rivet heads later!!!!! Undercoat (Citadel base iron warriors) applied to two parts, just to show the contrast. Tank interior will be the undercoat
  17. Now there are a lot of rivets in the water tower tank! So to simulate them I am using 14 x .53mm diadem brass pins. There are pre-cut guide holes for the pins to go through, but they do need to be elongated a wee bit prior to the pins being cut to length and superglued in place.
  18. Friday night for me is Model Train Club night. Last Saturday, I sent a good friend, who just happens to have a laser cutter, the plans of the Chelfham water tower And tonight, he gave me a bag of the following bits. There may be a few design tweeks, but its always fun building something new.
  19. Trust me the questions will start to die off as some proper modelling starts!!! The four coaches are on there way to NZ so soon I will have a train, but it is a very "pristine" train, especially inside the cab. Now what I am interested in is whether anyone has weathered the inside of the cab yet, or if anyone has pictures of inside the cab of the replica lyn, including the floor!!! Kind regards John
  20. Its an interesting question. My interest is around the WW1 time frame (1914-1918) so that has been the driver for my lionheart Taw and Coach buying. While I am going to use a bit of modelling licence in my layout build, it will be based around 1916ish
  21. So have a bit of a quandry!!!!!! Has anyone received any of the above yet? I have them on order with Hattons (and they have charged me for them already) and now I wait, hoping that they turn up before 5 February!!!!
