  1. I'm guessing that the seller has thought "card = old = vintage". At least hes not asking a fortune for it!!
  2. I have seen _ _ _ _ EWS on a car, however that was a few years ago, and the car was a mid range second generation Daewoo - in silver! Makes me wonder what DBS combinations are available.
  3. The only time I've seen buses on the A14 has been when they are the Whippet one going to and from the depot at Fenstanton, or buses being delivered to garages in East Anglia, from suppliers in the Midlands or the Yorkshires.
  4. That is just shocking - the Freightliner logo is printed on self adhesive paper (look at the bottom left corner). As for the 47, I'll offer him 50p for the nameplates!!!
  5. Thank you BlackRat - you have reminded me why I'm interested in model railways, and everything I seem to remember could be a cliche to someone else, but to me they are memories and personal memorials.
  6. The problem with this is that most people have a good experience with ebayers, and most adults will discuss any issues in PMs, so starting a topic would be mainly additional 'chaff' on here.
  7. But how many did they refund because they had no stock?
  8. Is it historicaly significant? Let me re-phrase that question, Is it more historicaly significant as a 1911 coach, or a 1932 "whitewash" coach? And does the NRM realise it's latter importance?
  9. I might have gone for that lot, except I don't like the sellers lack of knowledge, and the price the lot is going for!!
  10. Hate to open old wounds here;- But as a buyer I leave feedback when I received the parcel. However if I feel a quick note to the negative is required then I will send a message to the seller (I've only felt it could be helpful on one occasion) and it is possible that there might be a very good reason for any issues. When it comes to sellers leaving feedback, I would prefer it if the sellers waited until I had left feedback, but I understand that to some sellers they leave feedback to acknowledge payment - and because if they don't do it ASAP then they might forget. Again as a buyer I try to pay at the end of an auction, but if there might be any reason why I would wish to delay payment, then I will contact the seller and check that it is okay for them. As for the "Business" sellers, I only know of one - Rails of Sheffield - and I have had no problems with them at all.
  11. I've a quick google image search for 83301, and found an interesting site- http://crompton.zxq.net/CromptonLivery.htm Then there's a couple on Departmentals & Internal Users, and it gives some details. http://www.departmentals.com/photo/83301 and http://www.departmentals.com/photo/83301-1 And then there's this shot of the entire test consist. http://www.railphotoprints.co.uk/index/detail/9804/73205-83301-Y-Pirbright-030590-JC340.jpg.html Good Luck
  12. And after all my mediocre runs with ebay, I have been informed that I have TWO Lima class 60's on their way to me for a little over £41.00. I think that that's a good price, after all how much were they new and how much work would be needed to bring them up to the Hornby version?
  13. All this excitement about the WEST COAST based multiple units, whilst those of us on the east don't have anything RTR, and there are a lot more options available:- 313 / 314 / 315, 317 / 318, 319 (a large class both north and south of the Thames) 320 / 321 / 322, and the 365's So Hornby, Bachmann, Heljan, Dapol - and all you commisioning retailers, five possibilities for you. And you also have the newer classes like the 333's and the Heathrow sets.
  14. After further looking around on the web, I came across references to 60500!! It seems that 60016 was renumbered, and on one site there are pictures to support the fact, but I couldn't find any reason for the renumbering. BTW, we had a steel liveried one powering some flats through Grantham yesterday evening.
  15. I've just quickly scanned through this, and I feel that a balance is in order - Over the past week, I have purchased Two Lima Deltics for £32.00, and that includes P&P - yet I have seen 7 Lima HO mark 2's go for £35.01. I will not buy a new or currently available item from Ebay, but I might use ebay for the unusual or second hand items (until I can start searching on here ) such as the HO scale mark 2's. I will admit that the prices that some items go for can be eye wateringly steep, but I suspect that part of it is driven by the private "traders". P.S. any one got any Lima HO scale Mark 1's or Mark 2's?
  16. If I were in the market for an LMS 2P, then I would go for the Hornby model - preferably as no. 1000 in LMS crimson - because I remember the model. Something that the vocal people do not consider is that Hornby's Tornado in railroad trim is more accurate than a Bachmann A1. Now I do want a model of Tornado, but I do not wish to (nor afford) nearly £100 pounds for any engine, least of all one that I am planning on detailing and repainting.
  17. Some people put stuff on ebay and they don't even check for manufacurers marks on the model. And then there are others who seem to think that their model engine is worth somewhere between £40 - £50, but they then mention the missing bits like buffer heads, tension lock couplers and original (or any) boxes. I did try bidding for a Hornby 47 in Intercity, because it had an averagely repainted couple of Mk2's with it - I deliberately overlooked the inaccuracy that both coaches had 'Resturaunt Buffet' branding on one side only. It is alright that we who know better might behave differentley, but the average person in the street isn't going to know any different.
  18. I best stop watching telly then! P,S I do like the bike!
  19. There is the greatest cliche of all though - MODELLERS LICENCE!
  20. That stop check looks very much like one you'ld get in the North Riding, with P.C. Bellamy's Mini, P.C. Walker on the bike, and 'Sarge' in the car! That makes it a cliche in my book.
  21. I'm into trucks, of the road going heavy goods type, but in 1:87 scale, and mainly for my own imaginary fleet.
  22. Can any one tell us how this seasons RHTT work as affected the availablilty / stored status of the 60's. And I can remember chatting to an EWS driver on a charter when it was waiting at York, he had a 67 on the front of a 66, he told me that the 66 couldn't climb from the north london line up to the GWML at Acton, which is why the 67 was on the front. The 60's are the (probably) the last main line diesels to be built in this country, and at 100 the class was small, but the government wouldn't pay up for anymore! It would be nice to know - 1, Was there a plan for a larger class? 2, Could the 60's have been designed, adapted or built as passenger / mixed traffic loco's?
  23. On the subject of "wish lists" I would like to see a Ford Granada mark2, and a Rover SD1 produced in OO scale. BTW, I ran an F reg Cavalier mark 2 hatchback in 1997 - there's another option for the model companies to produce.
