    i have added play store onto my fire tablet and installed the app on there no chips to try it on yet but would be the cheapest tablet to use i think just the agro of installing play store

    thanks ,confused me as the app mentioned bluetooth connection etc will just have to use any chips i get as normal dcc untill the app if ever ps i brought the grundig 2000 recorder but then i also brought the atari computer systems both the xl and the st versions

    i am a bit confused on this android version post ,i have no chips to try yet was about to buy but i have downloaded the android version off play store to my samsung s20 fe phone is it a case of i cant download sounds yet

    you could get dozens of different answers to this question as we all prefer the one we use ,as per previous answer you need to go and try several out and see which suits you and your needs. for what its worth i love my roco z21 as i can use any pad or phone to control it,but if you want the feel of using a dial to turn then it would be of no use to you

    bit of a late reply but i had this when i plugged in the power supplies the wrong way round ie modem into z21 and z21 power into modem so the z21 is very particular as to power feed

    that was my next thought ,one of the driving cogs seems to be deeper into the body than the other so will look for a small washer to bring it into line

    yes taken the gears into account and made sure it was true all the way around

    brought a Dapol class56 off evil bay ran but derailed in places set the back to back to 14.5mm using a gauge and now the gears do not mesh correctly is there a cure for this or do i have to just close the wheels back together untill they do mesh and hope for the best on derailing

    bushes are rock solid as in can not remove but it runs so bad may just use brute force and ignorance to get them out ebay bagain ? so cant return

    i have one dcc fitted and it will not even go around curves never mind over points it seems to rock on the 2 driving wheels opened the bottom up and there are brass bushes set into the chassis and the axles run through them so no way of adjusting anything unless i attack the chassis with a dremmel

    i have gone for the z21 grandson has one pad to control his train i have a pad or phone to control mine plus if i see anything going wrong i just hit the stop button and everything stops poins are dc through a control panel which i control

    i read the instructions on here for making the applicator on here and on visiting asda for the bits i found they do a soup mug with clip on top that also has a built in handle so just posted this in case anyone else is thinking of making one

    just in case anyone else is as stupid as me dont mix up your power supplies for the z21 and router if you do you will get a flashing red light as if you have a short ripped out half of the new wiring i had just done until i tried the 21 on its own and still had the red light phoned manchester model center and a very helpful man there pointed me in the right direction

    just fitted some of those myself ,so easy one set to each pair of wheels and some single strand wire to daisy chain them together

    had my z21 (the white one ) for about 12 months i love using it and my 6 year old grandson can use it as well i love the fact that we can have a pad each and if i see something is about to happen i can stop everything dead in an instant

    just stripped off all the wrapping around the chip its a zero 1 not dcc should have guessed i suppose from the dirt on the wheels

    brought parcel railcar with chip fitted off evilbay 6 pin chip make unknown connect to programmer and the engine runs at full speed straight away tried to re programm cvs and it will not take anything cant ever set cv 8 to 8 scrap chip or is there something else to try think its dead when i read cvs it returns 255 which i understand meens chip can not be read

    look at blocksignalling web site they do a circuit board that controls led when you throw point http://www.blocksignalling.co.uk/index.php/points-position-indicator-ppi4-dc they also do one for dcc points as well i have done a small mimic board using probe and stud rather than switches they also do an infra red point changer that throws points when a train is detected so may have a play with a couple of those as well

    its no wonder maplins folded needed some bi colour leds got 100 off ebay for £3.61 free post i then realized i had ordered the wrong type ordered the right ones 100 £1.90 again free post how can anyone compete with those prices
