  1. I said to the family you couldn’t make this group any better bar a VC. The log books are fantastic. Derby lad too.
  2. Went all the way through the war, volunteered to fly a Hurricane off a merchant ship (He couldn’t swim!) only to lose his life post war in a flying accident training another pilot.
  3. One of the very best groups I have ever had the privilege of selling.
  4. I was in the shop at the station again yesterday for a trip on the WHR. The lady behind the counter was busy doing mail orders and said the locomotives were selling really well.
  5. Welsh Highland Railway birthday treat.

I had one 6 years ago, but didn't get to ride in the obbo car!

That looks a lovely evening Ade. It's worth sending that image to the rare weather phenomenon department for their sunny weather in Snowdonia files.

Hi Andy, actually took this morning. Weather is lovely for October. Just sitting in a bug box awaiting departure.

      Cheers, Ade.

  8. Jenny Kirk has put up a short video of the prototype Shark brake van this morning. Very impressive. Cheers, Ade.
  9. Hi Paul, very enjoyable watching all the trains go by. I liked the oil tanker train. Cheers, Ade.
  10. I have done thread in the Preservation forum on Bala Railway and added a lot of pics from today’s show there.
  11. Final set of photos from the show. Great day out. Lez made a purchase from the show, but more about that another day. Cheers, Ade.
  12. The show was at the local school. Sorry I did not get the names of all the layouts. But the pics will give you a flavour of the show.
  13. Back at Bala there was a free vintage bus laid on to take you to the model railway show.
  14. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Lez made a new friend with the station dog. We got a seat right behind “Alice” for the return journey to Bala.
  15. We decided to spend a couple of hours at Llanuwchllyn station as there is a lot to see, museum, engine shed, Signal box plus time to have tea and cake sitting on the platform.
  16. Again another railway we have not visited before. We were not disappointed. We found a camp site next door to Bala station which was ideal. We caught the first train this morning which was hauled by “Holy War”. Good views out over the lake from the train. We took the rear carriage which we had all to ourselves. So we sat right at the back.
