  1. Hi George I look forward to hearing how you get on. Have a nice weekend Stuart
  2. Morning Graham the powders are Tamiya I have thought about a disused look shed but this is me we are talking about I just feel that the area needs to be open but there will be plenty of clutter laying around and im going to put a building in the open space at the back i just dont want to over fill it i feel this way it wont close the whole scene in and keep abit of length to it Stuart
  3. This evening i have been playing around in the yard area i have started to add some of the grass tufts and have been playing around with some weathering powders on the tarmac crossing. I am also looking at the loading bay i think that it is abit to big for the type of siding. Im looking at maybe just turning it into a permanent way yard now. I have taken the roof off to try and get an idea of what it is im trying to achieve. I have been going through countless books to get as many pictures as possible to work to. Test area on the crossing And the loading bay (before) And after Appologies for the picture quality the lighting in the loft isnt great Stuart
  4. Hi George I cant say that it is anything in particular my 37 and 33 havent had any problems running over the points but my 08 kept stalling i thought with the cobalts and code 75 trackwork that it would work out fine but no. I had the tam valley frog juicers and tried one out and it was huge improvement so i fitted the rest and my 08 now crawls over all of it. Sorry i couldnt be more helpful Stuart
  5. The early br blue on E6039 in my opinion is to dark but i will be having it weatherd so its not bothering me really. Stuart
  6. Looking good matt. Keep up the good work Stuart
  7. Not done it yet Ian i need to get some brass wire but as soon as i do i will be doing it. Thank you for the advice. Stuart
  8. Thanks Graham it is too clean but it will be filthy soon i have found some photos of how i would like it to look so now i can get this one done there is a few on the to do weathering list at the moment. The 08 is the other one i would like to get done soon aswell cant have a clean BR blue 08 Stuart
  9. Had a great couple of hours at the chatham show yesterday helping Ian (Temeraire) on tidworth with Mike (scoobra) and graham (shanks522). I managed to grab a couple bits while i was there i picked up an 8pin zimo decoder for the 33 which on closer inspection yesterday had to be stripped down and cleaned up as it wouldnt move at all All is working fine now after agood 45 minute clean I also picked up some grass tufts which will be spread here there and everywhere on the layout After talking with Ian and Graham yesterday about the Dapol 73s i have swapped the 2 wires over to get the directional lights the right way round and have blocked the contact for the cab lights so now looks much better when in use. Stuart
  10. Thanks again for letting me help out on your fantastic layout Ian. It was good to meet you and Mike. I was really impressed with the route system on the layout you have done a cracking job. Great 50 fleet aswell 1 of my favorites Stuart
  11. Looking good Matt I like the idea of a field give it a real country feel dont forget to stick a little blue tractor in there for me How is the track holding up now after you replaced it ? Stuart
  12. There has been no movement on the other one it may have been due to when i was playing around underneith the board who know's. Stuart
  13. Today has seen weekend engineering work take place. I had noticed during the week that one of the magnets for the kadees had started to lift at the end of the 3way point. So while swmbo was at work i removed a short section of track cleared the hole out and refitted the magnet Magnet glued back into place and new track work installed Finally testing began with a class 33 Stuart
  14. Thanks for the comments BR(S) And Graham The lighting pelmet had been fitted but has since been removed as i wasnt happy with it. Recently i have been concentrating on the electrical side of things. I am really pleased with the slow action cobalt point motors but not so impressed with polarity side of it. So i decided to wire up hex frog juicers to them instead and it has made a huge difference. Next was to tidy the wiring and glue in place so i could then tackle the wiring and power for the Dapol semaphore and after a few hours i was happy enough that it looked neat enough and more so that it all worked fine. New wiring and frog juicers Glued wires Power supplies And last up another crompton joins the fleet Stuart
  15. Looking good graham. Is the building going to get a weathering or is going to stay with the freshly repaint look ? Stuart

  21. Have managed to get a few trees in this evening Stuart
  22. Thanks graham video looks good. Day off today so managed to get up in the loft and get a few jobs done. The main job of the day was to get all the loco wheels cleaned and give each one agood run. Then attention turned to cleaning the 3 way point blades the larger engines crawl over but the 08 and sentinel are still stalling so i will have to add some hexfrog juicers, and maybe look into adding some stay alives. Little bit greenery added this afternoon aswell Overall pic I have also spent quite abit of time trying to get the Dapol 73 to run better it has been a pig of a runner for months but after a bit of work it is now running fairly smoothly Stuart
  23. They would look good but not quite in the the right region. I need to get more 16t mineral wagons really then i can recreate the southfleet coal workings in the 70s with a peak Now a peak with that EM2 speaker in would be right at home ! Stuart
  24. This evening i decided that i would have a go at weathering some old 20t mineral wagons with acrylic paint they are not quite how i wanted them to come out but the more i look at them now the more i like them. I am waiting for some weathering bits to turn up but i thought i would give this ago in the mean time. Any commets more than welcome Before After 16t 3 together On the layout Stuart
  25. I completely agree Graham it was abit awkward trying to do the camera and operate. We will have to do some videoing next time your up Stuart
