  8. Hi Phil-b259 Thanks for the info on this, I really like the idea of putting wooden planks around the signal something abit different Many thanks Stuart
  9. Phil-b259 thank you that is just the picture i need there are so many bits like this that will all need attention but this is certainly a good place to start thank you again Stuart
  10. Bit more work on the signal tonight the hole has been made deeper so it sits lower down. I am thinking of putting a plasticard plate around it instead of filling the hole so that it is accessable if there are any problems Any other ideas would be very welcome . Quick couple of pictures please excuse the quality Stuart
  11. I will have to look into that one abit more looks really interesting Stuart
  12. That could be interesting graham il try not to go to low. Where is that ? Stuart
  13. Yeah i agree i will try and lower it over the next few days once im happy with i will get the wireing sorted out. Stuart
  14. Just a quick update i have drilled the hole for the signal and installed tested and works fine but work still needs to be carried out. It needs to be abit lower into the platform so i will start to dig around the base so it sits lower and will be tidyed up after woulds but over all im really impressed with it well done Dapol !! Quick couple of pictures to show where im at Stuart
  15. Hi Pete Just a few so far and im sure they wont be the last haha Stuart
  16. Hi all Well its been a long time since the last update but after a busy few months moving into our first home, our weddding in Croatia, and work. I have now managed to find some time to get back to modelling. As graham had mentioned in an earlier post Haynes End is now in its new home in the loft. The main scenic section sit's on a flat board and can be disconnected from the rest of the layout so it can be brought downstairs or be exhibited in the future With a lot of help a few months ago from graham and my dad they whole thing was put together and and a return loop put in since then i have added 2 sidings down the back of the layout. The plan is to have a complete circut. But for the time being it is as can be seen the pictures My main job at the moment is to crack on with the scenics. With a flying visit to the folkstone show last saturday i managed to pick up a Dapol SR semaphore for the platform so that will be installed and the cobolt point motors wired for mains power. In a slightly different note iv have put my display case up today so i can keep the dust of the engines when not in use and have some of my 47s out aswell Stuart
  17. I better get the paints out so the levers can be the right colours instead of brass haha. The bridge looks really good aswell. Clever photos not showing to much it will be nice to finally get it in place Stuart
  18. Hi jo Its really starting to come together now. Have you got it booked for any shows in the future ? It will be nice to see it again in its new state Stuart
  19. Love the title of the orange box on the top shelf lee. haha we all have one of those boxes Stuart
  20. Graham if i was to start your stock it would take me till about the year 2020 ! Stuart
  21. Hi pete im no expert by any means its just trail an error and the great thing with it is you can take it off if your not happy with it. Stuart
  22. Hi Graham yes its just powder i use a wash railmatch paint mixed right down with thinners wash over the side. Dab it off with a peace of kitchen roll then very carefully dab the powder on until i get the result im after if i make a mistake i take it all off with thinners and start again. Once finished i will give it a spray coat of matt varnish.well thats the plan anyway Stuart
  23. Well after a long time myself and SWMBO have finally moved into our first house. First job of course was to go back up and check the loft space again and im very lucky with the space i have but i have been told that im not to use all the space. So i will leave everything below the layout hahaha. Graham (shanks522) still has the layout at the moment and i will be going up to do some work with him soon and hopefully bring the haynes end home. Managed to get abit of weathering done last night on a couple of wagons first up is the Heljan dog fish befire and after shots. And last up i have started on a Bachmann sand wagon not finished though Stuart
  24. Mr Archie is not impressed you smashed his walls Up. That is a very angry stare. No trains shall pass him tonight
