  1. Spent the afternoon weathering a Bachmann EWS BRA Steel Carrier to compliment some photos I’ll be taking of AS 66 so now that’s nearly complete I thought I’d get 001 out of the box! My oh my, what a stunning model! Superb in every way! I see 66’s everyday of the week living along side the Shrewsbury/Chester line but in model form I just didn’t realise the sheer size/length of the prototype! Well done to Accurascale on producing a superb rendition of what I’m sure will become a classic!
  2. EWS Maroon 66 is about to be dispatched according to an email received from AC today!! Maybe get it on Saturday, but which Saturday I dunno?!!
  3. At the end of the day, both Cavalex and Accurascale have delivered the goods so to speak, not much point in making comparisons, both produce excellent RTR models that just weren’t around even 10 years ago to this level! It’s little wonder they are so popular considering what went before and that’s no disrespect to other manufacturers!
  4. Yes, pre-ordered from Rainbow and received the exact same customer service from Phil for my Colas 56, a real pleasure to deal with and will be using them again without hesitation!
  5. Hopefully, my 56 will be arriving Thursday in Colas Rail Freight livery to accompany the pre-ordered Accurascale Colas 37 with Hattons Rail Treatment train sandwiched in-between!... ...And they say the hobby's dead!?...No, just a more discerning approach, in my case as a novice!

SFMR 2024 is back! This popular and well attended one day show takes place at the magnificent medieval Church of St. Mary’s in the centre of Shrewsbury. With 21 layouts already confirmed along with a host of traders and Railway societies there should be something for everyone! This year sees a dedicated section in the Trinity Chapel specialising in Narrow Gauge.
