  1. I've always felt a tad disappointed with Train Sims in the past for various reasons and I've took a long break from them. I saw recently on Steam that Train Simulator 2021 was included in their winter sale so I jumped in and bought it quickly followed by the purchase of Netherlfield a route that takes in a lot of the Nottingham area lines in the 50's 60's. I have to say WOW! Its a whole different experience from train sims in the past and as for the Netherfield routes, well its just gobsmackingly good. I can't really do it justice with words to be honest - The builder deserves a mention the New years Honours list. I had no interest the lines of this area before this, but I do now! There is one ongoing problem with 2021 that the developers have not got to grips with which results in an out of memory message when you try to use the scenario builder. Its so widespread among users that hopefully it will get addressed and fixed. I should probably say that I have no connection with any of the producers of Train Sim or the Netherfield route or Steam. Worth a look while the sale is on Len
  2. Done a bit of that myself. You'll have a great time
  3. Cheers Kevin. Two of the yard lights are modified street lights that I got on Ebay dirt cheap from China I think
  4. I've never installed any overhead lighting to my layouts in the past but I'd like to do so to my present layout. It's about 5 feet long x 16 inches wide see 'The Yard' on the layouts section . I'm after a warm daylight effect. I believe a warm effect works well when taking pics of the layout? I stand to be corrected of course! What would people recommend in terms of types of bulbs, how many and where to purchase from? Thanks for your help! Len
  5. I had to do some remedial work on the stone sets as they were fouling the brake rods on the Panniers. Lifted a couple and superglued them down firmly. Now all ok! Got some stock on the layout last night
  6. With track laid and tested out I did some scenic work on the cassette end of the layout
  7. Great weathering work! You might care to check out the methods of a YouTube called night shift who does military modelling especially the video of him rusting up the exhausts on a.m Tiger Tank ( as you do)
  8. So I've done some bridge construction today. plastic and DAS combination. Some filling and painting required of course
  9. Are there any freight wagons lurking in industrial areas where lines have been lifted but wagons left behind at factory’s . Just wondered.
  10. Points now all in , wired up and remotely controlled. Had a bit of a mock up with some buildings
  11. A few years back I explored Bala Junction. I parked up nearby and pretty sure I hiked across a field or down a path to get to it . Looked today at Google Earth and for the life of me I can't remember where I parked to get there? Can anyone who has done this help please? Same goes for Llanderful Tunnel too if you have done that location also. Memory eh? I do remember the name of The Prime Minister this morning however! Cheers Len
  12. Wire and tube in for 3 points and the rodding and cranks for the other point completed.
  13. On Google Earth I've just stumbled across the station at Argy. 46 56 20 56 North, 1 26 26 34 East Is it a Preservation project? There are some very old pieces of goods rolling stock in the yard! It looks like a delightful route. The line at Argy is separated by a 100 yard piece of missing track from the remaining SNCF system by the looks of it Anyone know much about it?
