  1. Thank you all for your response...this would explain why 48151 has a speedo' fitted in regards to it's mainline running. We never cese learning...
  2. Was the class fitted with a speedometer..??
  3. Don't shoot the messenger but I was informed, by several retailers, a few months ago that Hornby DO intend producing new or revised couplings...I wonder if they could do that competently!
  4. I constantly read a great deal about all the defects with this model or that model...why do muggs buy and then complain so much..?? There have been plenty of Warnings about several models, including the new Hornby Bk 5. The only answer with ALL of them/the manufacturers is to Stop purchasing in the Hope that "Oh I think mine will be okay"... Just don't buy the 2nd-rate models and save your money. With regards to Sam's Trains...Sam did you all a favour...he purchased a new Bk 5 and his frustration and disappointment was clear for all to see and then he said it was going back for a refund, Not a replacement!! Apart from the obviously ridiculous high cost, as Sam has said, there's the frustration, disappointment, and time and cost... I have stuck to my initial decision Not to purchase Any new model based on the poor and defective offerings of recent-date and it's Not just Hornby because I will never purchase anything Accurascale after the constant stopping in different areas of the layout of the "Manor" class model with the wheels still spinning away...and Both models do it and No other model does this and the track is cleaned with CMX and IPA and is kept clean!! Before anybody wants to tell the World that their such and such model(s) is/are perfect then good luck with that as, like me, more are preferring the Dapol option that has a superior motor...at least in my opinion if more than sixty-five years means anything.
  5. Your wording didn't appear, to me, to be specific...just to continuously use the lever to align or to align correctly before refitting. I believe there is video by "Hovermotion" on his YouTube channel...covering most aspects of strip down and repair, etc.
  6. Is that lever only for manual operation...Has anybody removed the deck and Not correctly aligned the bridge correctly..??
  7. Plenty of information on YouTube re: Fleischmann Turn-Table...useless contacting Fleischmann! Check-Out Jim at "Hovermotion" on YouTube.
  8. 1.) The answer to the question is: Reduce the speed slightly > press F1 (or Vice-Versa)...and then, after switching the sound Off, increase the speed ot what it was previously set to. So, is this a v5 decoder issue or a sound-programming issue..?? 2.) These models are Fungi to be with but there isn't Mushroom in them for a larger speaker!
  9. When the loco' is stationary the sound can be switched on and off...when the loco' is running the sound can be switched on but...it can't be switched off without first returning the speed steps to zero (0) or stopping the loco'. The loco' itself is an excellent runner straight out of the box and I have since ordered two more, none-sound. That said, would it be possible to improve the sound quality...the volume is up from 128 to 180 and although the sound has improved slightly it still doesn't have the quality I would like..?? This loco' has now had at least five hours running and NO "waddle" whatsoever...Could the "waddle" be due to the sprung pick-up plungers..?? [The first loco' sound did exactly the same before the sound-decoder failed and the loco' was returned forthwith.]
  10. Thank you for the information, appreciated. Not having fitted a turntable before, I thought I would ask to reduce/avoid the risks irrespective of cost of what may be required. I believe that the Lenz LK200 is a good reverse module but then I was told that it would be easy, and cheaper, to make one myself...they didn't tell me how to build it though! My available system of use is either Z21 Black, ESU ECoS 50200, or 50210. Preferred being the latter two.
  11. Contact:C Bennis Supplies and Services on Ebay.... All required lubricants available. I have dealt with Chris for some years and find the products are excellent...explain what it's for and he will respond with a satisfactory option.
  12. I was thinking of operating the turntable with the dcc but then I was advised that it may be easier to convert the TT to dcc. The last thing I need is an unrequired complication. The more complicated something is, the more there is to go wrong.
  13. I need to convert the Fleischmann 6651 Turntable from DC to DCC...is it possible and if so how please.
  14. Thank you, appreciated... I should be able to do that quite easily.
  15. If they share the same wheels with the 2P 4-4-0 then I'm in luck!
  16. To be honest, from the conversions that I have done over the years, I have found very little difference.
  17. Thanks for the response but...... NO...!! Hornby R3460 is Loco'-Drive... Hornby changed in about 2011 from Tender to Loco'. I purchased the model at a good price and, whilst I have the Bachmann model x 4/5, the Hornby model is a lot cheaper, can be refined, and has a superior motor...it also has better pulling-power than the Bachmann class 66!
  18. Tried all the usual suspects for spares... I have a Hornby 4F arriving (First and Last) but nobody has a wheel-set. All I want to do is get rid of the stupid traction tyre wheel(s) and fit Normal wheels in place, thereof. Any beneficial ideas would be greatly appreciated...many thanks.
  19. I greatly appreciate your information as it helps many of us to be more understanding of the issues of which we are/were not aware..thank you. I must also thank Keith at Dapol for his excellent help to-date.
  20. I never intimated any such thing...only part of what you state was necessary but thank you for an eventual response...from somebody!
  21. Actually, they weren't... For anybody with a similar issue when using an ESU ECoS and sound decoders, other than ESU, the (F)unction buttons and features/icons need to be manually installed. Programme the decoder then Enable all function buttons then the icons which show what the functions are. I trust this helps anybody else with the ECoS 50200 and/or 50210 command station.
  22. Brand new sound-model with Zimo MX658N18 Auto-Detect...but it doesn't auto-detect or show the function icons...there are twelve (F)unction buttons showing instead of twenty-one. Apparently the Zimo sound decoder should react to "RailCom"... CV 28 is correct but I'm not sure about CV 29. CV 28 = 3 CV 29 = 14 bit 7.0
  23. Really weird issue affecting "Title/Subjects" that Nobody has ever found a solution for...well, not a satisfactory solution anyway! Anybody happen to know the value of the potentiometers used on the ESU ECoS 50200/50210 Command Stations, please...??
  24. I don't like core-less motors!
