  1. I think it’s important to let every layout have its time to shine. Several people I know are unable to attend these shows for health reasons and I originally started putting these videos together for them. Hope you all enjoy this if you were unable to go yourself
  2. Had an amazing day at the Bristol Model Railway exhibition! Such a fantastic show with a diverse range layouts. If you were unable to attending I managed to record videos of each of the layouts

  4. Photo of our club layout during a recent visit from local councillor Randell Izaiah Thomas-Turner. This photo was taken in January as the layout was still under construction so you can see the progress that has been made by the club:

  6. Rob, Firstly, I wanted to express my sincerest gratitude for your generosity in sending over the PDF detailing your remarkable recreation of the GWR Stella 2-4-0 model. It was incredibly informative and inspiring to see the intricate work you've put into such a unique project. Your craftsmanship truly shines through, and I'm immensely grateful for the opportunity to learn more about it. I can't thank you enough for your kindness. In light of this, I was wondering if you might have information available for any other locomotives you've created. As someone deeply invested in West Wales railway history, I've been on the lookout for individuals who share a passion for model locomotives, particularly those with local significance. Your work aligns perfectly with my interests, and I would be incredibly grateful for any further insights or resources you might be willing to share. Once again, thank you ever so much for your generosity.
  7. Recently attended an event hosted by the Cardi Bach Railway Society at the Mwldan Theatre in Cardigan! We were treated to a series of short films documenting the railway, accompanied by a display of memorabilia in the theatre lobby. A standout feature was the TT Scale layout of Cardigan station, which had been brought to life by the society. I recorded some footage of the layout that I thought you all might be interested in to see.
  8. For some reason the images on this post no longer load, would you be able to repost?
  9. Not exactly an exhibition in the traditional sense, but the other week I attended a presentation by the Cardi Bach Railway Society at the Mwldan where they were showing a series of short films on the old Whitland and Cardigan Railway. They had a TT Scale layout of Cardigan Station on display in the theatre lobby. I managed to capture a little video of the layout which I thought you all might find interesting.
  10. New video showcasing the TT Scale layout of Cardigan Station, presented at the Mwldan Theatre by the Cardi Bach Railway Society. I have seen pictures of this layout in the past and was really happy to finally see it in person.

  11. For those unable to attend NEWGOG 2024 I put together a video showcasing the layouts which were on display which you can find here.
  12. Had a blast at NEWGOG 2024 today! 🚂 Despite being primarily an O Gauge show, there was a fantastic variety of layouts on display. A full video showcasing the layouts which were on display is available here.

  13. Thank you for putting these together, Roger. I am from Pembrokeshire and am planning to one day re-create several of the locomotives which were used in the steam age of Pembrokeshire. Your blog has provided a great resource for Pembrokeshire's railway history for me :)
  14. Thank you to @YT-1300 @33C @Kris for your kind words about my layout. I have made quite a bit of progress since this post. I just wanted to say also to those who were concerned about incline, I went over this in further detail in the video I made of my progress so far. All my locos I intended to run on the incline were tested, with loads as well, and all worked perfectly fine! I would not have committed to this if none of my engines worked on it. I know its not realistic but I have always wanted to make a layout like this with a viaduct in the back. I will hopefully make an update post soon when I find the time!
  15. First time attending the exhibition in Newport. I’m really looking forward to it. Always happy to hear about more Welsh shows
  16. Spent the day at the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre for the Penfro Modellers Club Annual Show, a great little show as always! We really don’t have many shows in my corner of Wales, so I always like to support them whenever they are on. It wasn’t just model railways on display, but there were several great layouts on show.

  18. Absolutely loved seeing Carterton at the show! Finally getting to see it in person was such a treat. I even managed to capture a bit of it in my recent YouTube video, if you're interested in checking it out. Thank you for bringing it to the exhibition
  19. Just wanted to drop a quick note to say a huge thanks to the organisers for putting together such an awesome event! Had an absolute blast checking out all the layouts. It was very busy and I don't do too well with crowds, but it makes me happy to see our hobby is alive and well. I captured the layouts in a video. If you're interested, you can check it out here:

Thank you to the organisers of the event! Had an absolute blast at the show. Huge thanks for all your hard work in making it happen. For those who couldn't make it to the show, I made a video showcasing all the amazing layouts at the London Festival of Railway Modelling here:
  21. Just back from the London Festival of Railway Modelling and wow, what a show! Seriously, it was one of the busiest I've ever seen. Had a blast snapping pics and filming every layout I could in the time I had at the event. If you couldn't make it, don't worry, I've got you covered with a long video showcasing all the highlights. If you were unable to attend the event hopefully this video will help you get a good idea of the scale of the event and all the different scales on display!
