  1. This might be of help or interest to you,Martin has a good bit stuff on all models here. https://loco-updates.uk/class-68/index.htm
  2. I like how you have corrected the look of steel hot rolled and cooled and the paint product marking on them, takes me back to watching the hot steel sheets at Consett plate mill and the marking out guys on the red hot plates with wooden clogs smoldering marking them ,nice modelling Dicky.
  3. Its the gift that keeps on giving,in this case it gives you something to do sorting it out. Not many variations left now and few seem to hit e bay so it came good in the end.
  4. Dont know if this has been discussed before on the thread but running the TPE set with the Dapol 68 on DCC is the DVT addressed to locos to work lighting for direction? Have you had any collaboration with Dapol for this? Any news on the TPE sets please?
  5. Do you work in an opticians by any chance, who can read the bottom line ok??
  6. This is an interesting thread, its something ive wondered about as i have been having axle sets made to replace and re engineer the Hattons 66 axlebox issue. ive set the prototype to 14.5 with the DCC concepts gauge and all seems well but looking before i started they were smaller at around 14.4 and notice all the Accurascale models are set to this at manufacture.I first was going to set them at 14.75 and theres a 14.85 gauge for Ho/OO available also, all a bit confusing it seems,if the wider track is best why are they setting them at 14.4............
  7. Well ive bit the bullet and bought a sound fitted factory TPE Destroyer model. Funny i have checked a few times and nothing left and when i looked other day they have stock listed...........must have been a one off as once i bought it,no stock. My luck must have changed............

  9. This seems to be a good place to ask whats a general opinion is of this model,is there any big issues with it out the box or would i be unlucky if i order a few of the sound fitted ones they have announced, they look the part so whats the opinion of those who have got one.........
  10. So you are the Carlesberg of the model railway world, way to go guys.
  11. The scurge of the modern world, produced to price rather than quality. I personally would have it where its high quality and pay for it to be well engineered. You then either can afford it or save to aquire one,not buy it and replace the plastic with brass etc at more expense, you get what you pay for used to be true.
  12. Your pricing is good value and the items are well thought out and made,as i have said in the past its more of a team effort with your customer base, the major companys seem driven by pure money, its more about shifting as many boxes, they seem to have little interest with contact or what the customer thinks.
  13. The 59 only has four axle ends visable so less hassle than the 66, I did put a comment on Dapol facebook post on these when the Hattons 66 was first released and the reply from Joel Dapol was there EP had no issue with the rotating axes. Hopefully its better made than the Hattons 66 as in engineering terms gluing plastic end on a rotating shaft and expecting it to run true is silly.
  14. Makes one wonder where they keep getting them, sold out ones reappearing has happened a few times so they seem to resupply at times.
  15. Might be of interest to those who like the 66 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a453eamgwQ
  16. The new stock is down to 15 of 66033 and 66704 now, if its in your modelling timeframe, they will likely be next to dissapear. Once they are gone Hattons themselves are restoring a higher price to there pre owned stock, wil be interesting to see where prices go once they have a few years under there belt.
  17. While the thought of more liverys would be nice it would make more sence to sort out the production issues on this so it is more what was pomised, ready to run out of the box. All that this model have proved here is that Hattons are all about shifting boxes and the not a peep here proves that,so close but perhaps if they had a Accurascale approach it would have done them so much better, its more of us being part of the team with them, just return it is not what we want as so many have missed out on ones they wanted by the thread comments. If its to be rerun they should give the board contract to Iluminated Models as they sorted the large light issue where Hattons did not. As ive said before its a great model ,but i real terms i did not expect to have to pull it apart and start again to have it reliable in the long term. Why is 743 so unliked, its the only 200+ one now......
  18. Phew, cheers McC,was just about to turn blue thinking i was up the creek.
  19. You must have been too close, scarred for life by a Deltic, the sound did that alone,i too remember them in Newcastle, and the Meccano mag article in 62/63 about the 100mph railway being a dangerous place compared with steam days, took me ten months to save up to buy the Dublo one.
  20. Good to see all went well for you,one down and 743 is still over 200 stock to go at to compleate your train.I dont think anyone can say they are not a vast improvement but its been dogged with silly errors and quality issues.Just need Charlies sound in to bring it to life.
  21. Is it the light or are the real locomotives starting to copy the models, the horn grill looks to be missing...
  22. Was this a good Tuesday for the model rail world,is the warehouse brimming with JSA wagons..............
  23. Thats why i gave you a heads up as to the stock levels of these,746 was sold out and more appeared as has has happened for some others but 743 has far more left.
  24. 46 has 47 to go at and 43 there was 215 last time i looked. I have 46 with sound as i have seen it pulling freight in the flesh.Strange the difference in popularity. The choice is yours but if you need both start with 46 while they have some to replace a duffer.
  25. im sure Martin has done settings on his to improve the running, might be worth looking on his page or asking on his you tube page about this https://loco-updates.uk/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCIrQhTFz8Y0oJ5lyN99m_g
