Looks very much like a Lundun boozer, to me!!
That's right, we lived in Paddington from 1955 to 1969. But I only left London a couple of years ago.
Bovey Quay is a unique place it'll have a character all of its own. It won't be a model of any particular place TBH. I'm not after following conventions or prototypes.

The "N" is weird/eye-catching/both.
As a graphic designer by trade, you can understand that I spent countless hours looking for the right font for this. Bovey Quay is to be both quirky and also very rundown set between '55-'65.

Thanks John. I purchased the font from My Fonts. Then set up a doc in PSD with several sizes and printed out a laser copy.

Thanks very much for all the comments. We were always in two minds with that name. Because it's an easy fix, I thought I'd give it a whirl, but a new name has been chosen...

The new name is...
THE GOLDEN ANCHOR

THE GOLDEN COD name because...
Bovey Quay is a fishing port like Brixham. And it's a play on the 'Golden Fleece' pub in York and the 'Fat Pig' in Exeter. But I realised from the start that it could be confused with being a fish and chip shop or even a Chinese restaurant. So I'm unsure whether or not I should change it. Answers on a postcard.

Did we ever work out what the plural for Panniers should be a "pride of Panniers" perhaps?
A Coalition of Panniers?

“You have to see the job finished before you start, and work accordingly.”
I'm also aware before I start something, that if things don't go to plan, a do over could well be on the cards.
For example, I painted the backscene for Bodmin Moor three times. Each time I thought it was fine when finished, but after a few days I scrapped it and started again using a different reference image. It's quite hard to be objective when you're too close to the work and just standing back is not really good enough. This has been the case many times and I don't feel gutted that I have to start again, I actually find it rather refreshing and the work improves immensely too.

Yesterday was very special and I really enjoyed my first ever show as an exhibitor. Here's a few pics from SWAG '24, see if you can spot me.
Clue: I'm next door to @mullie
