These past couple of weeks I've been building the Golden Cod pub for the new 7mm layout, Bovey Quay. Right now laying the header bricks in the window openings. Brickwork scribed onto 5mm foam board. Window headers I cast myself from plaster. Then I'll make a start on the sash window frames, now that should be fun.

I really lke these walls. Did you scribe them yourself?
Thanks and yes. Bricks scribed on 5mm foam core board after soaking off the paper outer.

I suspect it's like when Mansell went there, he's got his titles so the only thing left is to be able to say that he drove for Ferrari, a status symbol if nothing else...
I remember it well. I was at Silverstone in 1990, a great race but not the result he wanted. I think that was the one he through is gloves out of the pram.

What if...
Mercedes are back at the top this year and Lewis wins his 8th title. Whereas Ferrari are fighting for scraps. Does Lewis still want to/have to move to Ferrari? Is the ink dry on his new contract? 😀

When I retired in 2016 my wife suggested I install a garden home/office for all my hobbies. I spent a fair amount of time researching several manufacturers. But in the end I decided against it for all the above reasons. By the time you get it perfect for your needs, it will have cost a great deal more than what it says on the tin.

It's been a while since my last post on here. Introducing the first of many buildings on Bovey Quay. Starting with a simple card mock up of the 'Golden Cod' loosely based on the 'Fat Pig' in Exeter and the 'Golden Fleece' in York. I hear they serve some very decent cask ales and apparently the fish & chips is pretty damn good too. Can't wait for it to open!

Claud Butler bikes. Myself and my mates always wanted one of those. Centre pull brakes and Campag' gears. Never happened though.
Not a Claud Butler but a Raleigh Grand Sport with GB brakes and Campag' gears. Best bike I've ever owned should have kept it.

It's been said on this forum many times that a layout is never truly finished. In fact many never do get finished like the last two, Kanator and Bovey Tor. But I'm very pleased to announce that yesterday 'Bodmin Moor' was signed off by the quality controller as DONE!
So I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support. And if you're able to get to SWAG in April, it will be great to meet y'all. And now we'll be heading straight back to 'Bovey Quay' my Brixham-ish layout and I hope you'll all join me on that journey.
Cheers!

The exact same thing happened here yesterday. One of the Fox transfers decided to come unstuck after I coated the wagon with matt varnish. It was only after I posted it that I noticed it. 😀

One of the many detail's that help to make the whole scene ring true. SWAG is a 16 hour bike ride or 53 hour walk from here but if Bodmin Moor is going to be there, then. if the weather is good, that could be a plan.
Bodmin Moor is booked for 4 or 5 shows this year. And SWAG is first on the list, hope to see you there, weather permitting.

Lowish sun shining beneath the cloud cover to side light the wagons. brilliant - I like the representation of the field system and the tob on the stone hedge - out of curiosity, are the sides of the hedge vertical or have you made it with a batter i.e.: with a wider bottom and a slope or thee stage arc as it rises and narrows to the top? I'm thinking of making a short length (4mm scale) that I can make a mould from to cast as many lengths as I need.
Thanks Pete.
The sides are made with a batter and a very slight curved, gradual slope.

Kevin's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green static grass flowing down
Someone left the door out in the rain
I don't think that it can take it
Cause it took so long to make it
And he'll never hang that door again
Oh no!
