  1. Ah. In that case I think being low riding is the least of your problems there! I'll go hide in a dark room while the heat dies off...
  2. Very nice work as always champ, but is it my eyes or is the GCR Open riding a lot lower than the other two?
  3. Hi Tony, those lamps really make the model! I love the Doncaster A1 too, a proper loco! Have you looked at the DCC Concepts LNER loco lamps? They're slightly more expensive, but they can light up (although I think you won't want this function!) They are also 'too scale' and look the business. I have loads I need to fit to my models! Stay safe and happy modelling, Dylan.
  4. Now that looks amazing... You've given me some inspiration to get an LNER A4! I always though Garter Blue looked 'Toy-like' compared to Brunswick, but a properly weathered one like yours just looks the business!
  5. Many thanks as always Tony! Stay safe and Happy modelling, Dylan.
  6. Good afternoon Tony, I was wondering if I could pick your brains? (or anyone else's!) I don't suppose you know which British Rail A2/2s and A2/3s one can create with just renaming/numbering Hornby's 2020 models? Hope you and Mo are doing well and keeping busy during these weird times! Many thanks, Dylan.
  7. Good afternoon Tony! I couldn't agree more. DCC Sound in large locos working large and fast trains as demonstrated on your layout is simply redundant. However, since my layout is a mear 12x1ft 1960s MPD based on Doncaster, I feel sound may have the potential to be better utilised, since as you'd expect, there'll be lots of low speed chuffs, puffs, whistles etc. I'm looking forward to seeing the video Tom has filmed on LB. Many thanks, Dylan.
  8. Hi Tom, Feel free to listen to have a play with my Suttons 24 and then tell me what you think about DCC Sound! DCC Sound is good and is getting better, but it is no where near perfect. So far the Suttons 24 is the best sound loco I've heard, and I'm yet to hear a sound kettle that sounds like a kettle, especially in Pacifics. Hopefully technology will soon allow for better speakers and sound files to allow for proper sound in steam locos.
  9. It certainly is a tight fit! I don't have much to show but hopefully this will show what I intend to achieve. This is one of my 6ft boards, on the other I'll have two pairs of points so locos can change roads and maybe a thunderbird siding for an A1 or an A3. The shed will be 2ft long and will hide a cassette loading system. Between the shed and point work I'll have some Ash Pits. The two centre lines are the main running lines connecting the shed to the Doncaster station. The left hand and right hand tracks will be sidings that end somewhere on the other 6ft board. Thank you for the offer of helping with building advice! I'm a product developer for Scale Model Scenery so I'll be designing my own range of products for the layout. Ta muchly! Dylan.
  10. Aye, very much fictional! I'm limited to 12x1ft, so I'm just going for a simple 4 road MPD with a bit of point work and the odd siding. I own a fair few BR(E) locos, so an MPD was the obvious choice. The track plan takes inspiration from Doncaster, and the buildings from Haymarket. The MPD will also have a similar use to Doncaster, so will feature lots of visiting locos (just an excuse so I don't have to rename everything to locos from one shed in particular!) Hopefully once I get some good photographic progress, I'll start my own thread to document my progress. Dylan.
  11. Beautiful work as always David, I'm really enjoying following your thread and it's providing me with lots of inspiration for my layout, which takes inspiration from both Haymarket and Doncaster shed! Keep up the good work, Dylan.
  12. That's a gorgeous B1 David, have you added extra plumbing to the right hand side of the Boiler? Really looks the part! - Dylan
  13. I can confirm that Panda Models on Hallgate has closed for the time being. I am unable to confirm if and when it will re open. I can only apologies for any wasted trips and lack of communication
