Looking forward to going Richard. Be a fun weekend -
West Country 34003 Plymouth is finished. I weathered it with my Airbrush then put in the coal iinto the tender. Put the southern head code boards on the front, then the train board (Atlantic Coast Express). I've ordered a crew from Modelu waiting for them to come. I have put in a Zimo MX648 sound decoder with a suger cube speaker and a red LED in the firebox

Airfix West Country update. I have put the transfers on a d in to the paint shop for a coat of satin varnish yesterday. Today I have put on the name plate and Crest. Hopefully I will do the weathering tomorrow.

Looking very good mate. Customer would be very pleased.

A bit more work on the Airfix WC loco. I have cut the ladders off at the back of the tender and fitted white metal ones and also fitted lose wax steps on the front and back of tender, I used brass wire to make a bar for the engine to tender coupling. Got to think about the vacuum brake cylinders that go behind the buffer beam.

That's looking good Bill. I had thought you would extended the legs so you have the gap under the glass.

Hi Glade to here you are coming out the other side and all is well. I have lost my mojo in the last few months, I am now coming out the other end and finishing a airfix W.C with a Comet chassis. I have put it on the urine G16 thread.

I have started on the tender. I rubbed the ladders off and the moulded lines down the tender sides also cut the coal out and made a false bottom to out real coal in. I got brass vacuum cylinders to put behind the coal bunker and cut the water filler top off and put a white metal one there and a hard water treatment cover. I also put a bottom to the tender so I have some where to fit pick ups to This what it all looks like when put together. Still got more to do on the tender.

I started to build an old Airfix kit with a Comet Chassis a few month's ago. The chassis has all three driving axles sprung and I did a lot of cutting and changing the main frames for the Airfix body. The body sides I sanded the moulded details of as it did not look right, I will put the rivets back using Archers Rivet Transfers. The smoke deflected are etched brass. The boiler front smoke box door is replaced with white metal wins from RT Models, and ash pans are white metal from RT Models. The back of cab is white metal as well with the drawbar below cab is also White metal also from RT Models. Here is some more photo's of this build.
