Same here. I've got a lenz standard and that doesn't sit flat on the pins either.

On a different note, the Bachmann 24/1 that I just got had the main (upper) part of the chassis seemingly glued to the body and impossible to remove. Yes I removed all the screws holding the chassis to the body too, and only the lower chassis/running gear appeared to lift out..oh dear. Anyone else had this problem?? Not seen this in many years of chipping Bachmann locos. Have I got a dud?
Did you find the screws under the bogies (just in front of the rear wheels on each set)? Sorry if you did, but they are the ones that caught me out for a while as not a normal Bachmann placing.

I've seen them used on the Drax run a few times, but they always look better hauling the Scotsman 66743 Royal Scotsman by Mark Nulty, on Flickr

Looks great in green without the warning panels and much improved over the past releases. What's the detail pack like?
Hopefully mine will arrive tomorrow.

Railfreight version is today's advent offering by Rails of Sheffield. Have held out up to now, but severely tempted at £140!

Returning to the Hornby model, can any forum members provide definitive advice about any dcc decoder that WILL fit the 87? So far I have deduced that even the dcc concepts 8 pin direct will not fit?
Thanks in advance
John
I've got a lenz standard in mine. Wasnt the easiest to fit though, and have used the sticky pad you get with it to secure it underneath the circuit board above the driveshaft.

Thanks! I used a little bit of white spirit in the end on a cotton bud. The name came off easy enough, but the cab numbers took ages to rub off.
I also noticed that the model only had the three numbers. When researching yesterday it looks like 87027 and others did on all the photos I could see, so I am guessing it was fleetwide.

They weren't self fitting, but I think it's the light as in the next pic where the ends are reversed they are there.
