Hi folks,
which Express/Passenger Locomotives were operated by the ER of BR on the former GER Network in East Anglia during the mid 1950s?
Any others than B1/B12/B17s or BR Standards like the 5MT or Pacifics?
For the GEML, Gresley Pacifics were too heavy I guess?

Finally the NER J72 in N would be also nice.

Interesting ...
I can imagine quite a few people saying "I'll take a Freightliner/DB Schenker 66 when they do one" . I can imagine the track being of interest.
But is anyone saying they are interested in buying the more exclusively British models? There might be a collectors market for some of the buildings but beyond that?
The main canon in the german TT-Forum is "Let's hope the german TT market will benefit from this in some kind" and "wow, the brits recognize the benefits of the east german gauge". But many also seems to be interested in british steam motion powers.
The other forum I mentioned is specialized on modelling british railways in germany.

Here is germany, we have two forums where this topic is "hot" and a big breaking news.

They mentioned more Sets for the future in the announcement.
When I would be a newbie and see starter sets in a shop, I would go with a set of East Coast Main Line Express Train.

With much talk of the sapce saving compared with OO, anyone tried and example plan of what you can do in a 6x4 with t120 compared with 00?
Simple Oval in H0/00 and TT. Note the measures are in cm.

Auhagen (german company) offers buildings suited for TT & H0/00 alike.
Faller has a Castle model in it's H0 Range which is actual a N model offered as a "background object".

If we had had a large modern TT range 5 years ago I'd have almost certainly gone down that route over OO.
Same her but with N for me...

They could release ballasted tracks instead - I don't see there is an issue with "they can't launch everything at once"..

I wonder why they do not came up with ballasted tracks when this is more for hobbists / casual customers.

It appears to be based around a "standard" straight of 166mm — this is the same as Tillig use in their "Modellgleis" range so it may be compatible with that (which is, I think, code 80). However the points are also 166mm long, the same as the Tillig EW2 points, whilst Tillig make shorter (EW1) points which are 129.5mm long (and longer ones as well). The Hornby points have an equivalent radius of 631mm, and will take up nearly as much space as "settrack" points do in OO; not much space saving there. There's also an error in either the track pack contents or in the catalogue descriptions of the track — check out extension pack 1 (TT8030) for instance. This is supposed to contain a point and it’s compensating curve, but according to the descriptions the curve is 30 degrees and the point is 15 degrees and the radii don't match
As I said, their tracks look like from Tillig. Also the power connector clip looks identical.

Couplers and Tracks (especial their power connector Clip) looks like those from german Tillig to me.

I wonder if the detail parts on the models will be "ready to run" or you have put on some detailed parts on the models by yourself like common with N.

One thing that hasn't been covered. What is the control system? Are these models compatible with DCC, you would assume so.
Catalogue says "DCC Ready". They also said they will offer Digital Sets.

Thats a surprise. Starting with those Gresley Parade Main Line Pacifics is a good choice. As an ER Fan those Sets would be auto-buy for me.
I guess that "Online exclusive" point is only for some time until Hornby could see how their new TT range is accepted by the market and maybe after some time the open their range for retailers. I don't can see this will be permanently.
If go wrong and "Hornby TT" will stay permanently online exclusive and exclude retailers - sorry Hornby you will fail.

Nice wagons.
Will you offer them as singles and 3 wagon Sets?

I have spent some time thinking about this. I would like to see Dapol further develop their Toplight range to include main line coaches rather than just the city ones. I would also love these to (the mainline ones) to be done in N Gauge. They would fit well with the Colletts and GF's Hawksworths. They would allow variety and could be seen being hauled by many of the GWR locos that Dapol already produce.
I support this!

Different Scale maybe.
I laught when they come up with british TT or finally N Stuff. With their continental brands they have already "experience".

Hi everyone.
Thanks for the suggestions, It's always good to hear what people have to say. I obviously can't give too much away about what we've got in the pipeline, other than there are several exciting projects underway.
You're all going to have to wait and see...
Thank you Ben!
Would be nice when some Eastern Region N Stuff is included.

Hi folks,
do we know if any Lads expect Dave from Dapol are (still) active at the Board?
I wonder which models would you wish from Dapol?
For me it's whatever is suited for LNER / Eastern Region of BR in N. Gresley's rebuild 4-6-4 W1 or more LNER Coaches (ECML Stock and Suburbans) would be nice. The W1 is pure wishlisting - otherwise Dapol has the A4 - but for ex LNER Suburban Coaches there is a hole on the N market.

On those Livery illustration in the announcement, shouldn't 50725 be numbered as Sc50725 instead of M50725?
