  1. Bring this back onto topic I was disappointed that Hornby did do a SEC&R R1 similar to the old Wren/Hornby Dublo one. It was way ahead of its time being the first injection molded Hornby Dublo loco (i believe) and they must have sold tens of thousands over the year. It would have fitted in well with the celebrating of 100 of manufacture? Not much from Hornby for the Southern modeler....
  2. Ah that is better news then thanks for this....
  3. I find it surprising that there isn't enough clearance for P4 wheels (or em for that matter) on modern RTR stuff these days.
  4. Chimer So yes Sanford and Banwell did win but apparently it was very close. On the down side S &B is Great Western and P4 so that normally goes against it!
  5. Now that the Bluebell railway have confirmed in the Blue News that they are doing a new build of the E class which is almost the D class brother. It must make sense for Rails to follow on with the E class with perhaps a premium price so that they can donate the extra £5 or £10 to the new build..... Then all we need is a D1 and an E1.....
  6. Gary I think you need to put all the inside valve gear on it and that would slow you down! Especially with a 00 Chassis.... keep up the good work. Martin
  7. some beautiful high quality modeling here and always worth coming back to keep up the high standard? Martin
  8. Interesting statement about layouts being to high for wheelchair users, it a challenge but we have to remember not all disabled or less able are in wheelchairs and that some people can't see the layout if they are too low i.e using crutches or sticks or if they have a visual impermanent. You can't please everyone all the time. I found the show a good all round show with something for everyone and the traders managed to extract money from me too.. Good work David Barker and team.....
  9. I have the D&S one but I need to check it to see it is the same. If I remember correctly the runner wagon it is am odd size wagon as a normal 10 foot under frame wagon is too short for the length of the jib.... Martin
  10. I believe that the SE&CR had one too, I wonder if it will be a latter version? Martin
  11. Or would they do an E to match? Dreaming of SE&CR locos..... Martin
  12. Interesting points here, there was not much in the Hornby 2020 stuff for me but I like the look of the rocket and i had one back in the day so I tried to pre-order a set with my usual supplier but he was sold out so I tried the next one i use and he was sold out so I have given up. Hornby have lost a sale of £179-189 and I am better off. Agreed if it was more of I my interest I would have made an effort to chase round more shoe to pre-order but it look like Hornby have lost my sale.... There is still 2021 to see what comes out... Martin
  13. If Hornby are looking back over 100 year perhaps a SE&CR R1 as per the old Hornby Dublo/Wren they may be able to reuse some of the H class work? Martin
  14. I wonder what is the chance of them being done in 4mm now? Martin
  15. Looks good to me. My preference would be for no couple pocket and let individuals put there own coupling in place.. How can I buy one? The R class looks good too... Martin
  16. Gary I think you need some more SE&CR content to balance up your listing any change of a SE&CR loco to liven it up??? MartinM
  17. Craig, interesting we have a RTR P4 Class 24 available possibly in limited numbers .... Why not a steam loco....? Martin
  18. What about more pre grouping stuff interest seems to be growing.... Martin
  19. It would be nice if it have splasher clearance for EM or P4 wheels too? Or how about the first RTR P4 steam loco? Martin
  20. Howard Not sure what was wrong with your wheels they are Alan Gibson wheels so they should be good quality? Does anyone know when the next batches will be available? I hear they will be doing earlier version with the single brake gear in SE&CR livery? Martin
