  1. not going for a Ba****d the chassis (obtained) is being used as are the wheels, nothing else is kept, the rest is being scratch built by "my guy" starting later this year as he has 2 of mine and 6 others ahead of it, delivery expected in 2024
  2. Im hunting for 9F MUST BE LOCO POWERED, it is to form the basis of 58100 Big Bertha, body condition is not important its helpful if it works but im not greedy, Loco Powered as complete as possible with Tender, if you can help email HOLBYCITYRAILWAY@GMAIL.COM
  3. Thank you all for your help and suggestions, can still find no reason for 92139 NOT wanting to work, everything has been cleaned and checked, but still no good, we have new motion awaiting fitting but, im also told the quartering is out, still cant run him, however NEW Problem im looking for a loco powered 9F body condition doesnt matter, it is intended to form the basis of 58100 Big Bertha, can anybody help ??
  4. she is tender drive pick up on all loco wheels tender permanently connected, rods and gear etc all look fine, just cannot find any reason for it
  5. I have a Hornby 9F, actually i have 2, but, the one im having trouble with, i thought was a green 92220 but when i took it apart to paint it black, i discovered the body is actually black and been painted green, so im going to strip it to find out whats really under there... anyway, the problem im having is having replaced the body, the loco wheels now only do 1/2 a rotation and then lock, took the body off again, studied everything under a magnifyer, but can't find anything, when pushed from the tender she still only does 1/2 a rotation and locks, gently laying hands on the loco and trying it, there is no locking up, i tried adding 30g in weight, no change, so now im out of ideas, does anybody have any ideas, somebody suggested the quartering is out, if it is i cant see it, please does anybody have any ideas how to solve this and what the issue is please ??
  6. Finally managed to make contact with Modelmaster.... the upshot being that he only has a stock of 200,000 plates and at the moment hes had a run on one of the names i wanted . he says he is going to have a good search around and try to get back to me in the next few days. a note on the website says Sorry in advance for any delays to November & December orders I've has almost 500 orders between mid-November and early January, and although working long hours to get them out to you, I'm afraid that some delays may occur. If anybody in AYR (or district) is looking for a part time (paid) job packing nameplates and transfers, please let me know! Age & Gender not important. (07795 499 405) Hopefully, all will be completed within the next two weeks or so.
  7. thing is there is no excuse for NOT answering Emails, Answering The Phone or Mobile phone, my grype is he is fast enough to take the money but provides nothing
  8. i ordered 2 plates on January 4, i had acknowledgement on the 5th the same day he took the money. Modelmaster will NOT answer emails, or the phone, and now it seems not even this mobile number, personally ive had enough, ive put in a claim on paypal and im also flagging it up with trading standards, to keep within the rules all i will say is he is fast enough to take your money but fails to supply the goods therefore i find this practice unacceptable.
  9. 28xx was stripped by "my guy" yes its tender powered, upon inspection, multiple problems were found, Tender Chassis split in 3 places, tender body was the only thing holding it on, it had been jammed down that hard it was stopping the motor working anyway, the result of the short is till unknown but after it was rebuilt it ran like a sewing machine Black 5 is away having my spare Black 5 tender modified for working with it, when the tender was opened (the one with the loco) multiple problems were found, cogs had been glued together but had broken so i thing the glue must have been done with the cogs on, and therefore glued it all together, its a standard class 5 with an lms class 5 body on ?? and there were wiring issues, when she comes back in 2022 she should be sorted 2251 tested my old one against the new, they both have a dislike of points, they ride up on the check rail instead of doing what i want, both "MAINLINE" not sure what to do except no Mainline for me, im told the back 2 back measurements are out 59 IS LIMA 28XX & 45XXX ARE Hornby 2251 BOTH MAINLINE
  10. track is all brand new, the 59 was the first to be tested on the new line, she is currently away for repairs, wiring issues were the problem
  11. The 59 was second hand from Facebook, The 28xx is from Jane's Trains, im not scared to name and shame as to date 15 locos that came from Janes Trains are also non runners, a Hall, the cylinders fell off broken, M7 dripping with oil, Black 5 wont take power but shorts the controller, L96 Pannier Tank also from Jane's Trains
  12. was there ever a proprietary model for sale at all, and if not, does anybody know if one was ever built, i rather fancy the idea of resurrecting Sammy, and what about Chuffalong or Peter Puff a Long ?
  13. 2 years ago i bought a 59 Diesel, 2251 Steam & 28xx steam, only just built enough railway to get them out, the 59 stuttered to a stand and derailed at every set of points, 2251 just derails on open points but closed points no problem, 28xx ran both ways twice sparks flying between loco and tender and from under the tender, noisy as a hand drill too, after the second run sparks were worse than ever until refused to move any further, can anybody shed any light on these problems please, as i dont know very much.... Just before anybody asks about track its all Hornby code 100, my 2 westerns, 2 9fs, BB & Class 40 are fine its just these
  14. agreed, but i lived there 1964 - 1984 im aware of the names but can only remember it as dorridge, i believe somewhere in its past the station was also known as knowle
  15. This is true, but, the it doesnt show the station with all 4 platforms in tact
  16. Im building a FICTIONAL railway it is HOLBY CI+Y RAILWAY, set in the mythical Wyvern Area, as a Preservation Society / Heritage Railway right now that is out of the way..... It is to be fictional because i know what i want and its easier than trying to do a prototype, this will enable me to pinch things or places to fit my wants and needs. At the moment i have 2 signalboxes, there maybe a third later (not decided) Barmouth & Bentley Heath have been chosen, and made for me by somebody with greater skills than me. Naylors Way is to be based on the Old Rotton Park Station on the LNWR / LMS Harborne Branch, Holby Central is to be loosely based on Kidderminster (SVR), the middle station Barratt Street, i want to replicate Dorridge Station, realistically im hoping somebody somewhere has photographs of Dorridge showing the 4 platforms (Platform 4 was demolished in the 1960's) DOES ANYBODY HAVE PICTURES OF DORRIDGE STATION BEFORE PLATFORM 4 WAS DEMOLISHED PLEASE ?? holbycityrailway@gmail.com
  17. right now im sticking with WD400 but you never know, ill get back to you
  18. a little out of my price bracket im afraid, thanks anyway, i was afraid i may not find one, i remember around 15 years ago i saw one but the money wasnt available and my project was still a long way off - thanks anyway
  19. Probably on hiding to nothing, but is there anybody that is capable and willing (at a reasonable rate) to convert a Class 56 body into Class 69 for me to become the first preserved 69 (69 056), i know Bachmann are meant to be doing one sometime next year or 2023 but i want to be ahead of the pack with one built from a 56 body, can anybody help and quote a price
  20. Does anybody know where i might lay hands on a WD 2-10-0 in 00 gauge, i got the 2-8-0 but its the bigger brother i really want ?
