  1. I just managed to get a Jouef internal cylindered 0-6-0 on eBay for less than £30 and there's an even cheaper one whose auction finishes in a couple of hours. I'll measure it when it comes but hopefully some suitable HO body will fit it.
  2. Many thanks. Does anyone have any experience of using it as a rail cleaner?
  3. Under what name is CRC 2-26 available in the U K?
  4. I've just watched a video on YouTube extolling the use of CRC to clean and continue the conductivity of model railway track. Don't use rubbers or even IPA, he says. Although there seems to be a fair bit on this in American Net discussions there seems precious little here in UK. It's also difficult to find which of the many products available here is the one to use. CRC 2-26 is what is suggested. What if any is the experience of users in the UK and what is the product you are using?
  5. I've been looking at the getting a chassis designed route. I've a friend, primarily a 3mm modeller (Ambleside on Shapeways) who has made brass locos for me in the past who is now also doing 3D printed bodies fitted to scratch built chassis.
  6. I've been looking at the Railway Mania builds of 3D loco kits on YouTube. Is this kit form of an assembly of parts the normal way a loco is presented?
  7. Is there a fix for these problems? Would we need to slightly enlarge the body to get the engine to fit, or can something be cut off, some framing? Or am I talking nonsense? I'm tempted to buy an old Terrier to have a look.
  8. So realistically, given wheel sizes etc, I am looking at a Dapol/Hornby Terrier chassis under a 3D printed body. Will they fit? Off to bed.
  9. So another option for the body if we can get a chassis to fit. 4foot 6 inch wheels, 6foot 10inch +6foot 10inch wheelbase? Does the Terrier Model look like this? And can it be made to fit?
  10. Not heard that before. Class V had some sold to LSCR in 1899 but never heard of Class D or E built for anyone else.
  11. So an old Mainline etc J72 would make an HO GNSR D/E class with a 3D printed body? Given that the new J72 can't be used and a kit would cost.
  12. Ive got a set of drawings of the loco (E type version) taken from a very old Railway Modeller and drawn up by a GNSRA member years ago. How do I get it to you? Is putting it here sufficient? Perhaps the best thing would be to determine whether there is any commercially available chassis which would suit before going further?
  13. I have no experience of loco kit building and a recent stroke means I never will, now. But I want to get a High Level 4mm J72 chassis built for me and into a 3D printed GNSR D class in 3.5mm scale (If I can compare drawings in the two scales). Who does that sort of thing for the many thumbed amongst us? And at what kind of price?
  14. I doubt if I am high level enough for any level chassis kit, alas. But I'll certainly have a look. Thanks
  15. I will ask the GNSR Association forum about drawings of the D Class and get back to you. There's a single profile drawing in our loco book in a weird scale of about 4.6mm to the foot but there may be more.
  16. Now arrived but front light is bust. Where in UK sells suitable 12 volt bulbs that would fit?
  17. I've now had a look thru your extensive 7mm catalogue. I'm looking for wagons in 3.5mm with both body and chassis in plastic. I'm happy to provide fittings like buffers and couplings myself. I see you do a 1909 wagon, 7 plank FRWC 48 which, if it's on a 9foot chassis would be fine for private owner pre- grouping. I should also point out that my principal layout is GNSR so I would be overjoyed if any of the GNSR wagons like the box van, brake van, cattle, coke and 3 plank were to become available in HO. I've made the bodies of the first three in this scale in the past myself in either brass etch. 3D plastic or resin but have always been daunted by the lack of an appropriate plastic chassis in HO for these GNSR models, Scotch brakes and all. As I say I would welcome any of these in 3.5mm.
  18. In fact it's a runner with an SNCF bodyshell and I've bought it. Many thanks for the information.
  19. I've put this in the Wanted section of the Forum as well but just in case. . . I'm looking for a contemporary French tender loco for my ROD HO cameo layout I'm building in the fiddle yard if my main GNSR layout. The obvious one is the Rivarossi Bourbonais 0-3-0. But I can't see one anywhere for sale in the UK. They appear sometimes on eBay in France and Italy but both the postage cost, post Brexit and the 20 percent VAT make the costs prohibitive. Is there anyone here with one of these who would consider selling?
  20. Our Society magazine, Satellite, halted a few years back after 60 odd issues. All are still available free in the files section of our forum. However we have decided to start it up again and we are in the process of collecting articles, snippets of relevant news, wants and for sale, indeed anything relevant. If you have anything you think could be included send it to me at kennclark@btinternet.com in the first instance and I will forward it to our editor. The more graphics the better.
  21. As said a standard Private Owner wagon with 9 foot Wheelbase chassis. I've found a source of PO transfers who will make them for me in HO, lots of Scots ones amongst them. So I can use them on my HO GNSR layout. I want the model so all I need to add are the wheels, or maybe buffers as well. What you got and what price?
  22. steam Era Models in OZ, do HO size wheels, 11.08mm. RP 99 They have a website. www.steameramodels.com
