  1. Ok, you win ! 😂

I’m very pleased with my model, despite the fact that has been mentioned the beading is missing on one side.

This is not noticeable from normal viewing distance and for me says more about the high standards that

manufactures have set themselves that we pick up on such details.

My particular model does not have a cab light permanently on whilst running on dc either as Heljan state

in the paperwork, but would not be permanently on on the prototype in any case.

As I say “I’m very pleased with my model”.

  3. Probably the wrong place to ask, but I believe KR Models were at Rails Of Sheffield last Sunday (3rd Sept)

    to answer any questions ?

Would be interested to hear feedback, especially as I have a Bellerophon on order with them.

    Cheers.

    Hi everyone,

My, it’s getting a bit hot in here. First of all, apologies, in the last 10 days or so there has indeed been a lack of communication regarding the balance of the manors on our part and for that I would like to apologise on behalf of Accurascale.

As mentioned above, the previous emails with information we have put out on manor ETA times have all been wrong to date. These timelines are fundamentally based on what the factory has told us, and in this case they have misinformed us on the ETA. We are unhappy about this as we pass on the information to you in good faith, and as a result you end up frustrated and we end up looking like liars. It’s been incredibly frustrating for us.

We frankly had our fill of this two weeks ago about the arrival of the manor, so we did not communicate the latest update as we felt “we would believe it when we see it”.  Hence the silence this week.

The good news is however is that our logistics company has been contacted by the factory, which is a sure fire sign that they are actually ready to leave the factory. This was on Friday, but a full schedule would not be confirmed for us until early this coming week.

So, simply put, they’re ready to leave the factory, they will come by air, but we don’t know precise details yet. Until we know they have been picked up and are out of the factory, any timeline we give you will not be accurate. However, that whole process usually takes about 10 days to delivery in our warehouse.

Regarding customer constructive feedback. We of course take it on board, but I think it is best is stuff like website functionality is perhaps emailed to us so it can be forwarded to our tech guys? I don’t want to backseat moderate but it likely doesn’t belong in a forum about our manors and if the right people do not get to see the information (and not all our employees read RMWeb, sorry @AY Mod!) then the effort in providing the feedback is wasted, and we don’t want that either.

Anyway, I hope this helps clear things up, and ultimately the balance of the manors are done and on the way, and if you have feedback, please send it onto us support@accurascale.co.uk.

Back to flooring the living room.

    Cheers!

    Hi Fran,

Could you confirm which Manors are yet to leave the factory please ?

The mod I made is exceedingly simple.

The bogie has a slot guide for the bolt which retains the bogie, and there's no side control. Cut a rectangular piece of plastic to fit centrally in the underside of the bogie, drill a hole on centre which fits freely around the bolt head, and then tack in place to assess what curvature the loco will now negotiate on the layout.

That was 'job done' because it was fine on the 30" minimum radius of the layout.

Essentially this converts the model to a rigid wheelbase of 90mm, and relies on the sideplay of the wheelsets to negotiate curves. I had thought it might be necessary to reduce the bogie frame width to allow the inside bogie wheel a little more sideplay but this was not required.

    Many thanks 👍

  6. Hi, thanks for the reply.

The pony truck moves from side to side and something that I have noticed is that the rear coupling

hook though central when moving off on a straight does not return to the original position after

travelling round a semi circle of track.

Don’t know whether this is connected to the issue or not ?

Everything else seems fine, ie. spring present, wheels turning freely and wiper pickups etc..

    cheers.

  7. I now have the ‘Lord President’ which I have no complaints with at all, in fact I think it’s a wonderful

model, but has anyone else compared the sizes of the driver and fireman ?
The driver appears to be HO scale, very strange ! 😂

  8. Going back to the dreaded double smoke deflectors !
Am I right in saying that ‘Earl Marischal’ was the only P2 fitted with these ?
If so it seems strange that if and when Hornby release a P2 fitted with these it will be a duplicate model.

btw, has anyone approached Hornby to be supplied with guard irons ?

    Thanks.
