Too cold for spraying today so a little bit more on the RFNoos. In my last post they’d had a wash and then a first bit of airbrush work which I didn’t take a pic, but here they are working on the weathering
a wider view showing the overall look…

For the first time in ages I’ve managed to attack the Squirrel Rail backlog so here’s a few pics. The RFD pair are finished. The red and yellow repeater. Are behind the leading cab on the no2 end according to reference pics, clot here noticed on my pic I can’t tell one end from the other but has been sorted!
Another long term project has been this Anglia 90, it’s just being weathered so a quick pic but I will post a longer update on it and finished pics
last up weathering time, starting on the log carriers, here with a wash in the front one;
and the cargo wagons having had a wash and the first coat of muck
i know I’ve said it before but will try some regular updates amongst the domestics!

Are those white patches sprayed, or are they a transfer ?
They are the Fox transfers - they provide a white blanking patch to give a good colour density on the sector decal- I did remove the old metals branding underneath to start though! Cheers Jerry

Duff time! Four class 47s, two of the new 47375 Tinsley TMDs - one to become 47219 Arnold Kunzler, and two of the 47359 in RF Metals to become 280 and 362. The latter pair needing cut down cabs so used the Shawplan set:
here’s one done with a base coat of black with untouched behind-Next pic is the sector decals going on with the white under patches going on - need to extend the black behind the cab doors
last up here’s the four - I’ll post some pics when they’re all done,

As a change from DMUs bit of wagon weathering with this rake of Accurascale PTAs, starting of with a wash and then weathering the insides, before and after
followed by a mix of rust shades for iron ore dust - the light on my bench makes this look a lot lighter,
Next up more filth, chipping to get to this stage;
and another one …
At the same time working on a pair of flask carriers, a quick before;
and then with a light coating of frame dirt to tone everything down..

Finally an update - it’s been DMU central with two TFW 150s, a local lines 150, citizens rail 153, local lines 153 and the hybrid 150/153399 in Local lines:-
TFW 150236
The 153s
and again
Citizens rail 153
and lastly a 37 in RHTT livery!

Looks great as always Jerry! Looking at your great selection of DMUs, I'm looking to get a Ginsters class 158 done, would this be something you're interested in?
I’ve never seen the Ginsters one done but would look good! Unfortunately I’m taking a break from commissions in January due to too many other things going on but I will still be working through my backlog and my own stockpile so the thread will continue! Cheers Jerry

Hattons 40 bogie snowplough now being weathered, needed a change from DMUs so more of them in the next update- here it is:
and a couple of close ups, rivets round the bogie frame,
and rust around the storage box,
Whilst I had the rust out this old Hornby gronk is going on a scrap line on a mate’s depot, I’ve got glazing which I’ll add later,
and the obligatory DMU - citizens rail 153 having its weathering:-

Hi Jerry. A bit before my time, but that 2-BIL is an absolute beauty of a job - well done. The perfect 'in service' patina of gunk.
Rich
Hi Rich, thanks for the kind words, weathering just makes so much difference IMO and they don’t have to be coated like they’ve been on the Somme, sometimes less is more! Cheers Jerry

DMU season is here with another 150 in London Midland, this is definitely the last one of these I’ll do….
And again….
Spraying the fade on a local lines 150/2
And 3 more 153s into primer
And two more 150s about to get their TFW decals;
last up not a DMU but a bit of weathering on a 2 Bil
and a couple of closer views,
And the show gear,
Thats all for now!

Will go take a look, for some reason im sure i read to use a 50/50 mix of br maroon and GWR freight brown but could never find any refrence to it.
It is really hard to tell in prototype pictures as depending on the lighting results vary
Rainbow Railways do the correct WCR maroon if you need it - before they produced it it was a mix your own job!

57313 looks fantastic! how did you go about getting the best match for the northern belle brown? seems to be one of those paints that no one has made readily available yet
We looked at pics of 313 and agreed it had the cream added to the WCR livery so left the loco as it was with just the cream. In the past with northern belle I used a Pullman umber and lightened it. I think there used to be some pics on my thread here but may be one on my website, cheers Jerry

Thanks - I’m doing two more 150s which have got the blanked windows - this one is like the WCR coaches in that it’s done to a budget which was the respray rather than a rebuild with mods! Cheers Jerry
Here’s one modified!!

Another excellent set of results Jerry. Get well soon too.
Feel free to tell me to pi55 off, but the TfW 150 should have the toilet window removed as they all received their PRM robo toilets before TfW-ing. I believe most received it whilst ATW was about. But it does at least give me the motivation to get mine stripped of factory paint to send to my mate to get sprayed similar!Continue the excellent work!
Thanks - I’m doing two more 150s which have got the blanked windows - this one is like the WCR coaches in that it’s done to a budget which was the respray rather than a rebuild with mods! Cheers Jerry

Thanks for the message! I use Virgin flame red and a mix of centro grey and white for my light grey - there may be an off the shelf paint available now so worth checking, cheers Jerry

Still testing positive for Covid despite feeling ok. Now so just been carrying on with painting: spraying the fade on a FGW 153;
And then the first of the giant decals…
more units, an LM 150/1 and TFW 150/2, doors first on the 150/1then the green front ends
followed by miles of masking for the black window surrounds on bothThen unmasked - mini disaster with TFW as the red peeled - grrrr - will sort but an a@se ache I could have done without….
inspection saloon project getting its RR blueAnd a 57 having its roof primed for a lighter grey,
new numbers on the B12
and all part of the same job, a Lima 33 and renumbered on the schools and CCT
Thats it for the time being!

Thanks for the message, I used a dab of thick superglue and accelerator to fix the red ones. Revolution say you can take the blue ones off but I found some were absolutely solid and started to break whilst those that came off left the holes which looked awful! Cutting them down seemed the best option. Good luck doing yours they’re a good project to do, cheers Jerry
