  1. The Revolution IWAs are now finished, thought it would be good to show a couple of pics from start to finish:- 1)washes 2)First airbrush passes 3) Cleaned off data panels then more airbrush and Tamiya weathering shades 4) more tinkering and flat varnish and finished … Another completion are the 156s -my workbench light throws the colours off in photos making the blue look a lot darker so here they are in daylight- Then finished, Added the two bodyside vents to the 70 - thank you to the guys at @rainbowrailways for these and lastly a very rare sight at Squirrel Rail a bit of steam as this little fellow has gone in to wartime black… Hopefully another update soon!
  2. That’s brilliant cheers - as for the train was it one of the last Virgin services. Thanks Jerry
  3. Interrupted railway time due to other commitments and finally getting my jaw sorted so with a mouth full of stitches haven’t been over productive.. so a roundup of the last week-general view of what’s going on, all WIP…. The two IWAs have been something I have been looking forward to. First on these was a series of washes, a before and after; before starting with the airbrush. Five different shades have gone on so far so they’re getting there… The 153 that was in my last update has had the large bodyside decals applied, good job these like Microset as all those rivets on a 153…… Last project started is a tadpole to finish off for the owner who had done the yellow ends and BR grey on the two outer cars. The inner car is already in Bachmann blue/grey so I have gone with matching the blue first - here the centre car has had the yellow end overpainted and a coat on the other cars. This is a base coat and after this photo I gave all the blue another coat to get a match. Last one - can any one help me out with the Pendalino I’m doing. I am looking to get decals made for the coach letter, seat number block and then door buttons underneath but can’t find a decent image- can anyone help me out please? Cheers Jerry
  4. Hi Andy, the passengers were a mix of Noch and other random ones picked up from a certain online web site! Sorry can’t help much more Cheers Jerry
  5. Hi Andy, they were supplied by my customer all preprinted - I’ll ask where he got them and post his reply, cheers Jerry
  6. Managed a bit of progress this week. The local lines 153 has had its top fade sprayed, and really pleased with the result Yet another RES 90 has begun….. and passengers into a pullman Last up some completions, all nice easy jobs, weathering and re numbers
  7. Few updates from the back of last week with a class 70 going into primer: and the 153 having the bodysides painted, A batch job for Matt - thanks for your patience- renumbering one of his many 57s, weathering on the 66, 37 and 33 with the Heljan white cab and bodyside bands being redone in cream, I will do individual pics as I finish them, and last up rail wise adding additional black window surrounds on a pendalino for 390004 in its Alsthom scheme.. lastly something a bit different, haven’t touched the Porsche kit for a couple of years as it’s been sat in its box waiting for me to finish- as was my sons GTR which I had completely forgotten about - but so had he!!!
  8. Class 60 now finished and collected today- respray from 3TG into faded EWS and a “what if” naming…., nicely worn this one Another respray is this 101 from blue and grey into regional railways Continuing with units two 156s have had their Norther Spirit blue and the doors done in a Western scud Lastly Heljan 33 had a black roof from the factory like so …… but should be grey so resprayed prior to weathering I’ll post the weathering as my next update when I get round to it….
  9. Being fair to my customer he wouldn’t have seen the muppetry inside, it didn’t help that the previous owner had also glued the bodies on!! There are so many good products available for glazing there’s is no need to use superglue with all the associated problems - there’s one poster on here who actually advocated it when I posted a reply to someone asking for suggestions what to use- I pointed out the pitfalls but was “politely” informed he’d never had a problem😗
  10. Hi Jacob, I used some dabs of masking fluid over the primer before spraying the EWS red then peeled it off when dry leaving the primer to show through, cheers Jerry
  11. Few things ticking along on the work bench with the WCR Mk1s finished- here they are being varnished, And a couple of finished ones, they’re sitting a bit funny as resting on a spare set of bogies as they are having a bogie change by their owner Got the shed plates for 47851 so they’ve gone on- and started decals on the 60, bit of a what if nameplate on this one….. and with its decals all done the weathering has started…. Last up nightmare for the week/month. Got two Railtrack 156s to respray. My customer got them of a certain web based auction site. The previous owner, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to superglue all the windows in as you can see frames m the fingerprints- whoever you are I can’t call you what I want on here but for flips (polite version) sake try another hobby!
  12. Welcome back RM Web! It’s funny but this week I have been home all week and managed to get some stuff done so without making it too long here’s an update….long term resident GWR 166 finally finished likewise WM 150 in debranded scheme carrying on with DMUs the 101 respray into Regional Railways has had its yellow ends 47376 is also finished and a rework of Heljan 86609 with lots of little details added… and again…. hopefully will get another update over the weekend with the WCR mk1s and EWS 60, cheers Jerry
  13. For the first tim in ages I’ve managed to get some rail time so here’s what’s coming up, all boring at the mo but hopefully it will get better! First up is a 101 going from blue and grey into Regional Railways. I liked how the roof had been weathered so masked this out and then a coat of white primer Project two is four Mk1s going into West Coast Railways, here they are stripped down One of the coaches had a different colour roof so all four refinished The final project is a 60 going from 3 tone grey into faded EWS. First up preshading, Then various shades of EWS to build a faded colour.. Hopefully can get on with these over the next week or so! Cheers Jerry
  14. I’d had about 3 in 10 years then they did two on different days last week - fuming!!!
  15. Finally an update - very little modelling time and what I have had has been putting 50008 back together as Royal Mail used it as a football…. Have managed to finish Colas 56090 which started life as 059 in EWS last up my old gronk which has been lying around for ages and is being sorted in my “spare” time to become the depot pilot for Squirrels End stabling point.
  16. Hi Steve, there isn’t a great deal of science behind my photos! The light is the one on my workbench I use for spraying - a round LED desk lamp which is above and to the right of the loco and then the pic is taken with my iPhone. I should try and do something better but it it all comes down to time! Cheers Jerry
  17. Very little time again due to other commitments but the Hanson & Hall 50 is now done!
  18. Gronk are always nice to do but the South African pair ( I only had one chassis so only one in the pics ) were a real challenge so we’ll pleased with them!
  19. Very little rail time this week but have managed two completions. The Arriva gronk makes a colourful addition to the gallery.. A much longer project was a pair of South African Logic locos. These started out as 3D prints and required a lot of work to smooth them out from their original print and the bodysides The shells came with what you see so I have had to make all the glazing and fittings. Decals were drawn up by my son and printed by Steve @railtec-models and finally they look like this…. side on, and from the other side certainly a challenge but I think they look really cool and nice to do something out of the ordinary.
  20. Just to stir the livery pot another RES one on its way home..,,
  21. Not much activity this week as one of our old guys passed away so been busy with all that goes with that. So for a bit of light relief have got the following done over the week:) Bit of retro two tone green which will become 851… Then primer and grey onto the HH 50008 My workbench light messes with the colours in pics but it is the right shade- colas yellow next onto what will be 56090 Started decals on the Pullman coach before Arriva blue on the gronk and lastly 90019 is all named and just needs a final check over before it’s finished Hopefully a better week coming up!
  22. Thanks - yes it is the Bachmann one - think it’s about the 6th or 7th RES one I’ve done with another in the queue. It’s a great scheme and really suits the Skoda. Cheers Jerry
  23. Not much exciting going on here as very little workbench time this week so tackling easier jobs such bc as getting stuff prepped and into primer including a gronk to go in Arriva blues and a 50 H&H Thunderer and a 56 which will become Colas 090 Another 90019 Penny Black is getting there, this was the ex Virgin loco on the previous page New umber and cream on a Pullman, and lastly still tinkering with the Logics!
  24. Glad they get the Mr Grumpy seal of approval and that you’re happy with them- bring on the BR blue
