with Warley, I always make a plan…
military precision…
and as always that plan never survives the first encounter with a retailer..
I do agree, it felt less busy, I didnt see as many back packs.
Last year I did a “drop” on my purchases at the door and sent my wife back to the room so I could go on.. This year I had only 1 bag.
I’m pleased to see we are marked in green on your map! :)
What a weekend!
and a proper family affair on the Saturday, with my wife, Juliette and Daughter, Lizzie
our best Warley ever
thanks to everyone who came by to say hello and to all those who bought something from us.

It is with great sadness, that I must announce the death of Stephen Helliwell, co-owner and founder of Trains4U following a short, but hard-fought battle with lung cancer.
He was born in Halifax in 1947 and had a long career in the IT industry, specialising in payroll and personnel systems. There is a good chance that many of you reading this have been paid using software he has worked on at some point in the past.
He married Kath in 1977 and after living and working in Lancashire, Hampshire, and Essex, he moved with his family to Peterborough in 1998, working for a local software company.
In 2004, he decided to leave (or maybe I talked him into it) the world of IT behind, and start a joint venture with me, selling model railways in Peterborough under the name of Trains4U.
Steve was the face of the business for many years, often running the shop single handedly and he is well known by most of our established customers.
In later years, as Trains4U expanded, he stepped back from the shop floor to spend more time at home and to focus on the finances of the business.Sadly in April this year, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. The cancer was extremely aggressive, and despite treatment, he sadly lost his battle in the early hours of the 24th August.
Steve wasn’t just my business partner. He was my Dad. He was my counsel, my sounding board and a very dear friend and I am going to miss him tremendously as we all will at Trains4U.
Steve is survived by his wife Kath, his daughters, Tracy and Katherine, and his son Gareth.
Trains4U currently remains open as usual and is being well looked after by our dedicated staff, and will continue under my sole ownership. Please accept our apologies if there is any disruption or inconvenience over the next few weeks whilst we find our way through this.
If anyone would like to attend Steve’s funeral, please get in touch via email at info@trains4u.com (or personally if you have my contact information) and I will keep you informed of the arrangements.
thanks
Gareth Helliwell

Our exclusive wagons will be appearing early in 2024, so we have started adding appropriate loads to our Trains4U military range...
Available now if you already have some modern Warwells: http://www.trains4u.com/c/896/OO-1-76-scale

Up to now, our range of vehicles has been growing to complement our OO Cavalex Warflat wagons,
However, we have now commissioned a couple of exclusive Warwells from Hatton's. due to arrive early in 2024.The first vehicle we have commissioned is the Mastiff MRAP, in as-delivered condition.
available in two versions. Combat (in driveable condition) and Transport (With a realigned centre axle to represent a vehicle loaded on a Warwell)
As you can see, this is a substantial vehicle and fills a warwell (Image below shows a combat version, the transport version has a realigned middle axle so the tyres are on the deck)
Prototype images are copyright of Brian Daniels.
The kits are supplied unpainted and require a little preparation and assembly.
They are available now, priced at £25 each

They’ve arrived with us today
I can’t comment on the gearing, but the pickups are improved
the paint finish is now satin rather than glossy.

I had notification today that the second batch of KR Models Fells are in the country.
We have a limited number available for sale now on our website and these can be shipped next week once they've arrived with us.
I understand that this new batch addresses some of the concerns raised on the initial production run.
DCC ready versions are priced at £160, DCC sound at £260

Please don't use this thread to open old wounds/arguments or grind axes :)

They may have simply been waiting for the new batch of fells (and spares) to arrive, so that yours can be dealt with. The second run has just arrived with them (I'm expecting a delivery next week)
I've had communications with Keith today, so if you send a new email, I'm sure you'll get a response. -
The last of our CDAs are with us and are now on our website.
We have three ECC twin packs and one DB twin pack available priced at £64.95 per pack.
the ECC wagons have running numbers exclusive to Trains4U.
stocks are limited
we have less than 12% of our ECC pack 2 and only six DB packs remaining, so be quick!
