  1. I wonder if i can put in my cv. But I'm afraid I'll be rejected with my bold plans to embrace 21 pin dcc or next 18 or plux22.
  2. Which episode was this cl59 ep in? Whatever 59s i saw were all typical Hornby railroad models. Anyone has a screenshot or the details of the episode so that i can look it up online?
  3. I remember reading somewhere that all new tooling steam locos from Hornby would have a flickering firebox. Can't find it mentioned anywhere either.
  4. Love the approach, so what would it take for cavalex to show Heljan what accuracy really is? Their cl56 looks anything but a 56.
  5. Still looks good though, updates to the electronic components is all that it needs
  6. the lima cl92 would've made a good starting point for Hornby to do a minor upgrade like NEM couplers, dcc etc. The Hornby cl 92 looks weird
  7. Most of his posts like that have no value or contribution towards the topic at hand anyway. So maybe just getting his frustration out to feel good. Most people have a personal diary for such things. it's not like no one knows the recent troubles with hornbys d&e range. Some people have interesting ways of venting.
  8. wowzza, emotions run deep on the forums.
  9. Looks like a technical issue of some sort, maybe it will make an appearance on monday.
  10. But the problem is that we do not know if the tooling still exists for the old gwr king class Or the older ic225 sets. They could possibly get more from scrap metal from the tooling than margins from sales. And that may interfere in the sales of their current king class and forthcoming class 91 sales. Even if priced on the higher side, sets are cheaper than locos at current RRPs. So customers nay just sacrifice detail over price and go for cheaper options. Last year so many people but the cheaper railroad hst sets. And Hornby cleverly didnt sell matching coaches at the same time with the railroad hst options. Most likely a move made by Hornby to push sales of their full spec hst
  11. Predictions for 2022 87035 in virgin trains livery (tie up with nrm) H&h class 50 Staycation hst Some 56s to compete with cavalex Some haa hoppers also
  12. But Hornby did not mention anything about a re-tool Or an upgrade of any sort to the gwr macaw. The product picture quite clearly showed a large d coupling It is quite easy to do some research on models before you buy them. It takes just a few mins

Is this series anywhere online? Or is it only on the telly?
  15. I sent alan gibson an email a couple of months ago. I got a response within an hour. The owner of the business was extremely rude and completely unhelpful. What seemed to tick him off was a small grammatical error I made in my tired state after a pretty long day. I will avoid doing business with them. I got the same wheels that I required from a supplier half way across the world for half the price.
  16. Not surprised, I feel terrible for you. Heljan's packaging for their o scale models is not upto the mark. It's something that has been discussed for a long time online. I hope you can find a solution.
  17. In short - maybe and not really. Detail on O gauge models tends to be a bit finer, but there's not necessarily more detail. I've never handled a Heljan class 31 or class 37, so I'll avoid those. There's a lot of documentation online on the errors with the Heljan class 37. The Heljan class 47 (old and new) are full of errors. Heljan for some reason have an issue with locomotive cabs, they just cannot get the shapes right. If you're looking for accuracy, there's a class 47 kit available. The upcoming Heljan class 56 is another model full of errors. the cab area especially is completely incorrect. The Heljan class 60 fairs much better than the others, the only issue I can see with the Heljan class 60 is the sunken in grills on the body. Dapol are much better in terms of accuracy. Dapol are also much better at pricing. Heljan seems to be 3 times as more expensive
  18. anyone knows what the actual colour of the pantograph is on the real locos? I'm certain they were not polished steel. It's a bit of an eyesore on the model and needs to be toned down or painted.
  19. changes aren't going to be made once decorated samples are shown. They hardly make changes when tooling samples are shown. So I wouldn't cross my fingers. I think the hattons description is more likely an error on their part than anything else.
  20. the updated gbrf blue can be seen here https://uk.Hornby.com/community/blog-and-news/engine-shed/p2-and-proud-celebrating-pride needless to say, it's a vast improvement over the previous choice and something more accurate I suppose the forthcoming class 60 will have these updated colours seeing that this blog was from 4 months ago
  21. Taken from the hattons instagram page this afternoon
  22. If you've asked the indian embassy, they've most certainly given you the colours of the flag. Try the colours I have provided. They have been handpicked from a variety of samples from modellers in india. Military colour ranges and warning panel yellow is a good start
  23. I really don't see Hornby doing fake liveries on a high spec model of theirs. Flooding the market with class 56s will certainly happen. But I just don't see them doing fake class 69s on a high spec class 56 of theirs. Maybe the ex-Dapol one. But again, I don't see them spending money to re-tool it.
