  1. Sorry Mark only just picked up the question. Dimensions are 136cm in Length, 37cm in depth and 39cm in height. The fiddle yard can be what you want really as it's now just a length on to which I add peco loco lifts . Usually in twos but sometimes three.
  2. Paul I have to say I have not seen your thread before and these are excellent. I'M particularly enjoying rural goods. But what really stands out for me is the way you seem to get a lovely oily wash on the stock.
  3. Crossing the Bridge from Tunstead High into the goods yard. The river bed/Stream needs completing but I have not settled on a method. I also need to get some etched ladders for the water tower. Yard sorted and a Toad awaits pick up.
  4. Same item could be bought brand new for 85 (or any of the variants early, late, LNER) at the Haslingden show last week so its not enough of a discount IMO especially for "none runner" (dealer was Along Classsic Lines - no connection)
  5. Shunting Tunstead Moor. [Edit] The curse of the bubbly backscene.
  6. Mine has a roof and the tiniest of exits to the fiddle yard. The open front gets covered with a dust sheet when not in use. Does it keep it dust free, not a chance. I swear the dust gremlins must find access to anything.
  7. Been adding a few tiny details today such as the point levers. Think I first threatened to add these about 4 months ago, how time passes. Looking at the right of the layout we still have an issue with the bubbling I need to sort out. Here theToad has been dropped off so the emptys can be dropped off in the headshunt until later.
  8. Finally hoping to see this at the Masonic Hall show.
  9. A lone fruit van that was propelled into the yard earlier waits to be moved for the first move of tomorrow. It will be shunted at dawn into the goods platform for a cursory clean before loading.
  10. Have to say the 48DS has been a little delight. Super smooth and reliable over all point work at all speeds and the horrible conflat has yet to leave the box. I do need something more suitable for it to be pushing around though. Just one pic for tonight. But not the Runsted.

Have you done the simple 9v battery check(or 2 wires from the controller)to make sure the large prairie pick ups are in contact on all wheels. She should be big enough in the wheelbase to be straddling even dead frogs.
  12. Noticed a great bargain book the other day whilst in Rawtenstall. Some great pics and ideas for scenery and rakes and how it's changed over time.
  13. I noticed the out of date show adverts as well... Surely somethings gone a little wrong in the admin printing dept.. Other than that quirk another good month of skills I can only dream of
  14. But it might be a good idea if the shed supervisor checks his next manifest carefully for how many beer kegs are actually supposed to be on the van for the next mixed goods to pick up tomorrow.
  15. This little visitor appeared this morning from the Ordnance factory which is just up the line past Tunstead High Station. Whilst it was normal for vans from the factory to be left in the Sidings before the final destination, it was quite unusual to see the factory's 48DS beyond its gates; the vans would normally just be collected.
  16. Couldn't resist especially after finding an Army one for a ridiculous price at a 2nd hand model shop on the local heritage railway. Wagons connector arm is broken but it's not needed as I fit kadees and it looks like it was only fit for the spares bin anyway. Runs smoothly and slowly without any issues over all point work.. Just need a back story for why it keeps appearing in Tunstead Moor Sidings. Can't wait to weather it down. By the way I never thought I would come across an engine where even a Kadee 18 is too big.
  17. A little pottering about today picking up the guards van...
  18. .. A cpl more I took.. This has I admit become less a simple Inglenook on a plain board and more a rather OTT plank diaroma/scenic layout though the new plans may make it a little too big for this section of the forum as its new position in the house means I could add another board. I have managed to get rid of most creases on the "back" backscene - those two on the sides though are proving more tricky !!!
  19. Seem to remember I handpainted some more ground signals.. Though this is just for scenic madness as a yard like this would not have them I am told. One suprising thing - the Kernow DJH model runs silky smooth in DC (I must have a fluke one ;) ) but behaves like a lurching jerky horror in DCC.
  20. I also managed to put up a couple of other vids; one of those does show off the size (or lack of) of the entire layout a little better. It does have some text sections missing which I never got around to fixing.. So apologies And if your wondering who Boomer is try here... Diorama Painting 101| Light and Shadow: Part 2 - YouTube
