Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
Smudge617 replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
That's OK, mine said it was 33 days overdue, (immediately paid) and that was two weeks ago, now waiting for it to arrive. -

First let me give a big thank you to Simon Hayward at Accurascale who managed to find a needle nose antennae and a very small section of the roof that disappeared from 37608 in only what I can imagine to be, a very large container of very small parts. But I also have a question, I need to remove the old broken antennae from the nose, there's nothing for me to grab hold of to pull it out, so does anyone know if I can push it out from inside the bodyshell, I've not removed the shell before and I'm honestly loath to try as I'm quite clumsy. -

I thought it added more bass to the engine note when I used Heavy mode, maybe I need to get my hearing checked. -

Chap I had in Poland which I posted about earlier with the same problem was finally solved, seems the decoder wasn't sitting correctly, one side was catching on the plugs, maybe you have a similar problem -

I had the same thought, but it's a factory-fitted sound decoder, I'm wondering if one of the switches under the decoder is in the wrong position, not that it helps me, I don't have the switch card for D6704 but I'm assuming (wrongly, probably) that the switches should be set the same as my 37409 I've asked him to remove the decoder and send me a photo. -

He says it's a factory-fitted sound decoder so I've asked him to check the switch positions under the decoder, I doubt if that's the problem but worth checking on the off chance, if they're correct I think he'll have to contact AS directly and see about returning it. Unless @TungVT who has a similar problem has found a solution. -

You say the lights on your D6704 also don't work, have you found a solution or are still working the problem ? -

I believe it was factory fitted, he did send me a video and it was definitely the AS sound file, but whether he fitted it I'm unsure, I will double check with him and get back to you. -

There is a gentleman on a foreign forum I belong to who for some reason is bugging me about the light functions on AS D6704, (which I don't have as it's not in my timeframe.) It seems he can't get them to work, everything else is fine, sounds etc. and he assures me that he's checked the switches by the decoder and they are set correctly for DCC operation, and he's using an NCE system. Now I'm pretty sure I know the answer already after looking at the specs for D6704 but thought I had better double check with yourselves being more knowledgeable than myself about this version before I break the news to him, am I correct in thinking this model does not have any lighting at all, apart from the split headcode ? -

I'm a little confused by the exploded diagram, can anyone confirm that the nose ariel from 37409 is part No.145 please, seems I've lost one somewhere, and despite several attempts at vacuuming to find it, can't. I'm aware that AS are still awaiting the container with all the spare parts, but I would like to contact them regarding a replacement (several probably🙃) Thanks. -
WOW, I see it's not quite as easy as some people have made out, this is going to take me a while to get my head around JMRI, apart from Loco addressing and the three-speed steps, I don't mess with any other CVs, I always leave them as per factory. I'm going to copy and paste the above so I don't lose it, I think it'll help me a great deal in the weeks to come, thanks. I can see myself writing CV8-8 quite a few times in the near future🤔

Thank you both, I have the Zephyr Express, so there is a USB port at the rear, so somewhere in a box in another box which I think is in yet another box, under my layout is the box the controller came in, I'm sure it came with a cable, I think they called is a Loconet cable, I don't know if that's the right cable, or even if it's still in the box, but if not, I'm sure I can find one.. Thanks to you two gentlemen I've downloaded JMRI in preparation, but without being able to connect the controller I can't do much it seems, would have been nice to play around with it first, to get a feel for it and see how it works before trying to do it for real.

I have the New Accurascale Class 37 with a Loksound decoder, I'm trying to re-map functions F2 and F9 (Brake and two-tone) I just want to swap them over, Steve (@55020) gave me instructions which he has already tried as to how to do this. CV31 = 1, CV32 = 1 ---------------------- CV261 = 192 CV262 = 106 CV275 = 64 CV276 = 59 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 8 ---------------------- CV340 = 0 CV343 = 2 CV452 = 8 CV455 = 0 I have tried for several hours now, but when I input the values given into the above CVs the CV data shows me a totally different set of values for those CVs. CV 261 input 192 192 262 input 06 goes to 234 275 input 64 " 92 276 input 59 " No Ack Pulse CV 340 input 0 goes to 128 343 input 2 " 130 452 input 8 " No Ack Pulse 455 input 0 " 0 The sound functions remain the same and the Locomotive doesn't answer any command from the throttle, can anyone enlighten me as to what the problem might be ?

No, I haven't yet, but it won't hurt to ask, maybe someone else has had this problem, hopefully, it's not a decoder issue, I'll be really annoyed if it is, I've only run it twice so far. It's not a big deal really, but on the Digitrax F9 is latching and F2 is non-latching, so I'd prefer to have the two-tone on a non-latching function button and not a latching one. -

I know it makes no sense to me either, I've remapped other decoders with no problem, as to why this one playing up I don't know, thanks for your help, I'll put this in the DCC section, see what they say there, again, thanks for your help. -

Hi Steve. Well I got around to changing the CVs, unfortunately, this is a no-go as well I get this when I try and change CVs, I'll just note the ones that I'm having an issue with I changed the index CVs as you described and entered the values you gave me into the relevant CVs but instead of the CV data being the CV value I entered, when I write to the decoder I get this. 261 input 192 192 262 input 06 goes to 234 275 input 64 " 92 276 input 59 " No Ack Pulse Second set CV 340 input 0 goes to 128 343 input 2 " 130 452 input 8 " No Ack Pulse 455 input 0 " 0 The F keys don't change but I get all the sounds on the original keys, and again I get no movement of the Loco in either direction when throttle is applied. Is it perhaps my Digitrax controller that could be causing the problem ? -

Ah! Ok 😊 The only thing that happened when I tried those other CVs was all the sounds remained as they were, but I had no motor control, so......🙃 I'm off next week, so I'll try and get it done then and let you know.☺️ Thank's Steve. -

Hi Steve I've tried several times to do this, but ended up having to factory reset the decoder every time, I couldn't swap the functions over, all that happened was the function keys remained the same and Locomotive refused to move in either direction. -

Can someone more into DCC than me help me out, this is my first sound decoder and I've still a lot to learn. I want to switch the two-tone horn from F9 to F2 but I'm not sure what CV number I need to change and what to change it to, (I've never re-mapped function buttons). I've gone through the Loksound manual, but honestly, I'm no more knowledgeable about it than before, so any help would be appreciated. -

Saw these two while coming into Derby Station yesterday, there were two more 37's, but they were on the other side of the train I was on. 37901 Mirrlees Pioneer and 37608 Andromeda.
