In Leeds the Hunslet East branch ran from Neville Hill to two oil terminals, one being the Total Oil (Great Britain) Ltd terminal, the most modern in Europe when opened in 1968. A British Railways subsidiary Oil Rail Terminals Ltd (ORT) operated the two rail discharge sidings/ pumping operations for both terminals.
Insider view by ex Total Oil (Stocks) employee, of operations at Total Oil Leeds terminal, with facts and figures on Lindsey Oil Refinery (LOR) and the rail exports to Total Oil Leeds.
