26039 ambles down the branch to the goods yard

Cracking on with the scenics at a good pace today. Double tunnel portal built and cliff side built with modroc. Scenic scatter added and static grass layers added. Loads to do yet, track and ballast needs weathering down and more static grass and other scenics. Enough for today though

Now for my favourite class of locomotive! Haymarkets only allocated splitbox on the goods. The retooled Bachmanns are a pretty close example for OO scale. However, still had to add the obvious pipe under the cab, which should have been added to the retooled version, in my opinion. These came from Westhill Wagon Works as part of the 3D printed kit they supply for the Class 44/45/46

A selection from one of my diorama's. This one is East Road Goods. It is a fictional based mixed goods yard set in the mid 1970's of a remote location somewhere on the Scottish network.

So, as this topic has already been covered, I thought I'd throw my two pence worth in... my weathered br blue 25 finally arrived today. Wasn't aware of the issue prior to purchasing, only after, so it was just a case of give the benefit of doubt and wait for the thing to arrive. Not very good news really. Opened the packaging to find all the detail bits rattling around in the plastic carton. Opened up and most of the bits fell on the table and the floor. Not a good start... Got the loco out and unwrapped it and was immediately dissatisfied with the appearance. Poorly applied weathering and the glazing at one end is an absolute abortion. Paint chips around the windows. Totally disgusted with how they can actually send these out from the factory. Anyway, exchange request to the supplier and a very disgruntled email sent to Heljan. Won't be having anything of the sort with the SLW release towards the end of the summer...
