  1. Most of the new Hornby Bagnall diesel shunters and 06s are slow running so you could use those for slow running
  2. honestly the bit that baffles me the most is the lamp. Did head codes exist yet?
  3. wonderful to have a photo to actually work from. The model came from Glasgow and is painted in something that looks very similar to Caledonian railway blue I'll send some pictures later
  4. I managed to pick up an Italian long boiler in ho scale that could be easily converted into a Stephenson long boiler of the period.
  5. its more appealing due to the massive amount of variety in stock rather then just a sea of class 37s and DMUs. i also enjoy all of the research to figure out how my local area has changed
  6. Ah well i'm in deepest darkest Teesside so i am going to try and build a Stockton and Darlington or North Eastern Railway themed layout. The digital models in games like train simulator i find are very useful as 3d colour guides for models.
  7. I'm rather new to the realm of pregrouping locomotives and other resources. What i'm mainly intrested in is how brightly coloured and well looked after everything was.
  8. Well one thing i have been planning is if we apply these same rules of how a steam engine works but in a more fantasy setting. As i have been practising to be a dungeon master for Dungeons and Dragons. What this has to do with a believable freelance railway is i have a blank canvas, a whole country or continent i need to design and plan a railway network for. Think the Island of Sodor but XL. Am i totally mad for picking something much larger to world build? probably Will i have fun doing it? hopefully
  9. I think it depends on who's hosting the video. Some people have a really nice voice to listen to while others are well less nice to listen to. The point is that Sam's Trains is just a collection of click bait and he's popular because he gts down with the kids. But what would i know i'm only 20.
  10. The Sodor and Mainland stock is looking beautiful and i can't wait to see your progress on James, Edward and the Scottish twins.
  11. Going back to the triang S class 0-6-0 saddle tank. They could be rebuilt in some quite interesting 0-6-2 industrial tank engines. Maybe just saddle tank versions of the large engines used on the Lambton system.
  12. Oh ok i can do that...i hope. that website should hopefully have everything i need.
  13. I'm quite a new modeller only 19 looking to dip my toes in NER stuff. Is there any advice you could give me?
  14. Yes those will also be cannibalised for the project
  15. The T1 you say those are hands down my favourite locomotives. i just like how big and impressive they look.
  16. I am hoping to build a rake of 6 or 7 of these larger wagons
  17. The first item of rolling stock that's being made for the project. I was inspired by the bogie loco coal wagons the Caledonian and Great Western had so I decided to build my own. This is my first attempt at kit bashing It just needs painting, transfers, a coal load and weathering
  18. A small industrial thing built on a Hornby 0-4-0 chassis s
