  1. I stumbled upon these and wondered if they'd be of any use to the people here
  2. I just tend to call them kit bashing fodder. They might have various useful bits for a cheap enough price even if they have no working chassis.
  3. I've thought about just using the underframe of the crane as a maintenance wagon. Filling the well wagon like dip with sleepers
  4. Looking at the long chassis it might be possible to use it like the vans the Middleton railway turned into carriages.
  5. I thought about turning them into fish or perishable vans. Maybe gluing two of them together into a bogie van and seeing if that would improve the over all aesthetics. Just might little ideas on what to do with them
  6. I kinda love it to be honest. its a quirky little thing
  7. Sounds like i might have to try out some of your techniques on some Triang wagons i have been gifted.
  8. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265907664848 this is something that exists
  9. I've repainted a few as North Eastern refrigerated vans since the NER did buy the H&B in 1921. They are a what if creation.
  10. I think railway mania are planning a Kit of the 0-6-2s using the chassis off the Bachmann midland 1F
  11. Oh look something actually useful for a North Eastern modeller doing pre grouping stuff.
  12. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125608628877 today on ebay I stumbled upon this
  13. Other projects include a battered Tomy Donald and Douglas I'm converting into mid to late 1800s long boilers. I just need to find a suitable chassis. I'm thinking terriers may be suitable doners
  14. Building a 0-6-2 colliery engine out of a Bachmann junior chassis and a Triang saddle tank. Still needs the chassis mounting, rear wheel set added and painting. The plastic is a bit distressed in some areas so I may practice some rust effects on the warped bits.
  15. I'm slowly converting this Tri-ang saddle tank into a 0-6-2 colliery tank. Based on an engine used in Wales but also the Lambton tanks. The chassis is from a Bachmann junior Thomas lookalike. All I really need to do is figure out how to mount the new chassis and fit the rear trailing axle. You could say this is baby's first kitbash as it's my first time doing this kind of work on a model?
  16. I'm rather new to modelling so the idea of scratch building anything is rather intimidating. Luckily I have all of the lovely people on RMweb to help guide me through my first projects. Might have to start on my own batch of industrials.
  17. well it is a hypothetical and mostly fantasy world. i do love the image of the very independent Sudrians making the Peel Godred Electric branch as a thing just to keep BR happy. Only to keep running steam services up the newly electrified line.
