  1. Hello there, Can someone tell me who made the signal box that can be seen in this photo? I had it as a kid and would like to see if I can find another but I've no idea who made it. All the best, TTJ
  2. Hi there, Here's my attempt at a Nelliebosh. I can't remember where I got the outside cylinders. I used little brass eyelets for the window surrounds. The motor is an ancient seven-pole Zenith but has been remagnetized and the performance is quite good. Cheers, TJ.
  3. Nice loco. Incidentally that's not a K's motor it's an old Zenith. I recently put one in an old Tri-ang Polly. Runs nice and smooth. Seven pole.
  4. I follow Sam's trains and I enjoy his reviews, and the "silly" stuff is good too, very entertaining, and something the kids can look forward to whilst getting their dose of model railways. I sense some kind of resentment, dislike, or distrust among certain members of this forum towards him which I find more silly than any of his light-hearted antics. I found the review he gave of the hush hush to be fair and justified. I'm sure Sam is more than capable of being careful when assembling/disassembling a loco, and that his disassembly had nothing to do with the issues the loco had. I remember when you could buy a Hornby loco and it would be pretty much guaranteed to run straight out of the box, and continue to run with basic servicing for many decades. Obviously things have changed. I was most disgusted by Hornbys pathetic packaging than anything else. What a disappointment.
  5. Thankyou very much, it's been driving me nuts!
  6. Can someone tell me who/what "Book Law" is? What does the name mean? I've been trying to look it up but can't find anything. Thanks.
  7. Hello Ruston,

I have just got into model railways again after a break of about 40 years!

I like vintage stuff, so I purchased my first loco, an old Triang 0-4-0 "Nellie" having seen your little 0-4-2  "Pugbash" on this website, which I found to be most impressive. I would like to do my best at emulating your build, and was wondering if you could tell me where you go the wheels for your loco, and the cranks.  I was thinking of buying some cranks from Markits.

What size wheels did you use?

    Many thanks,

    TJ

The wheels were from Alan Gibson but I don't remember what size they were and I do not have the loco now.
