*I think* this may be the first working of a Class 60 to/from Arcow quarry - and possibly the first 60 on HYA/IIA shorty hoppers. (BICBW)

There's a rumour that the GBRf 60s will take over Rylstone quarry working from next week, with Arcow to follow.

edit - just found this on a gen group

  2. Pre-selling them before they arrive.....

Does the lifetime warranty transfer when sold/bought via ebay? As the description implies?

Those on Mendip and Tarmac work down here weathered a lot more traditionally!

Yep - finding loads of good examples....

BTW - do you do HOA graffiti decals - or is that a TBA?

Just played with that. Nearly everything above FL400 is private business jets, most at FL410. Just a very small handful of BA flights at FL410 to FL430.  Most of what I can see at FL450+ is a Gulfstream.

It reminds me of a story from a friend of a friend on traffic control at Prestwick, perhaps 30+ years ago. One transatlantic flight requested permission to descend from FL600 feet to FL400 . "Say again?" was said twice. Might be an urban myth? Or a U2/SR71?

    Truth or myth?

Several pilots are on with ATC, each asking for a higher altitude as they try to out-do each other. Then an SR-71 comes on, requesting FL600. The controller says "If you can reach it, you can have it". The pilot responds "... descending FL600".

Thanks for the tip. It didn't work initially but...

Good news - all 29 functions now working with the Lenz LZV100 with v3.6! Had to reset and completely reinstall the dongle firmware and the app. Set to "Elite".

Still a bit temperental on power on - sometimes Bluetooth doesn't connect, sometimes it connects but doesn't send any commands to the track.

But still great progress compared to half the functions not working.

Does it work with long addresses?

My Ian Allan ABC Locoshed Book, Summer 1960, shows 90763 allocated to 6F, Bidston on the Wirral. It would be interesting to know what work it did there.

Further checking in the Irwell Press, 'The Book of' series, covering the WD 2-8-0s and

2-10-0s, 90763 is shown allocated as follows:-

    March 21/7/45 (as 73787), WD 10/46, Kingmoor 20/5/50 (as 90763 from 4/50),

    Doncaster 17/5/52*,  Grangemouth 6/9/52, Kingmoor 1/11/52, Bidston 5/9/59,

    Kingmoor 16/7/60, Withdrawn 12/62

ISTR that 90763 was trialed on the Shotton iron ore trains whilst allocated to Bidston.

Try setting the Elite-Select switch in the dongle settings screen to each option, as these settings affect the way higher functions are implemented.

Hornby has replied that of their 3 x LZVs in hand, one is at rev 3.6R hence they will look up their testing notes next week and let me know.

I think George meant they wouldn't be looking at supporting other protocols e.g. Railcom, etc

Alas, for me at least, that wasn't the wording in the reply I got.

Unfortunately, I cannot foresee us doing more development in order to facilitate other non-Hornby DCC controllers.

    George has replied.

Not a good answer as he cannot foresee any further development to work with non-Hornby systems.

The recommendation was to buy a Select or Elite to allow full use of the dongles.....

Anyone want to buy a HM7000 dongle?

I can escalate the report I have already made to the Tech Team, but you could simply address the matter direct to George at HM.customercare@Hornby.com who is the project engineer for the app, decoders and dongle. He will be able to respond direct to you with how the fettle is going.

I know the Tech Team were looking at getting their LZV updated so they could try emulating the problem. Their problem may be finding someone with the update chip in stock.

Thanks Rob, I will contact George.

I use 4 digit addressing from an Elite without problems.
A couple of glitches that have been seen with long addressing. If you load a new or reload an existing profile you have to over-type your long address again in loco settings even if the address is showing correctly, then refresh CVs in the app editor and check CVs 17 and 18 have written the correct numbers for your chosen address. Some have been translating wrongly, in either case the decoder will not respond.

The other glitch currently under fettle is CV 19 (consist) address can shift from default zero to any number (often 16), meaning although sound works independently the loco thinks it is in a consist and will not work on the decoder home address.

If you can confirm those possibilities are not in play then I can escalate the LZV100 case up the ladder for investigation.

    Hi Rob,

Apologies for the delay in replying.

    Work/life/exhibitions got in the way.

I've updated everything as far as I can - dongle, etc.

The Lenz LZV is running v3.6 (the latest version),.

I still can't get other decoders to work with the HM7000/dongle on long addresses.

I tried the CV update and I got an error "Compatibility notice This feature is only compatible with HM7000 decoders", so doesn't appear to be available with the dongle.

If you could escalate the issue, that would be most appreciated.

It would appear to be at least partly sorted as @Tony Walker reported that long addresses work with a LZV200 base unit.

My plan is to replace the ageing LH100 handsets on mine and the club layouts, so if it can be sorted, then I'm up for buying three more dongles for my own layout and probably another four for the club layout.

    TIA
