  1. Morning all, Still dark and cool here, (23c), but birds are singing, so could be a reasonable day..... The main railway gauge here is "Cape Gauge" 3 foot 6 inch, so still "narrow" but much is overgrown. OK got "important" visitors to my big project today, the rest of you enjoy yours. Trev
  2. Morning all, There was a slight (and rare) bonus with work yesterday, saw this: But to get the photo I had to leap on to the top of a pretty rickerty oil drum......... "Modern" narrow gauge.? A lot of work is being done (under the guidance of the Chinese) to restore the rail network here. Enjoy the week, Trev.
  3. Morning All, Bit of a bummer that Jam, but that's life! I have never lived under thatch, but have heard all the above stories ( and several real "horrors" from an old thatcher friend of my dads) Oh well off to work I go, have a good day all. Trev
  4. Thanks for those evocative photo's guys. It's one of the few parts of the UK I've never been too. On a different subject, at every road delay here (and they are legion) there are hawkers selling pretty well every thing you can think of. I saw one yesterday selling hot water bottles..............in this part of the world the temperature rarely (like now) drops below the low 20's ©, does this guy know something we dont? Enjoy your week end. Trev
