I guess that my SP SD40T-2 would not work there?
ISTR the Tunnel-Motor version cost an extra 20k dollars in those days.

Sunny Devon?
Although there are one or two blue patches where the clouds have fallen over, the general outlook here is wet and blustery.
The timber garden arch gets ever closer to being finished.
I now have a complete kit of parts for the main framework that just needs screwing together.
Once it has been erected, I will be able to add what I see as a number of cosmetic add ons.
Climbing roses might be good.
P.S. Now in Somerset where it is cloudier!

We are told that window and picture glass must not be recycled, but must go in residual waste. That rather supports the idea that it is a composition quite different from bottle glass.
I am on a quickie trip to London to buy Eurostar tickets for my next few trips. The 05.05 Penzance is making good progress, and I have a coffee, inspecting sunny Devon.

Excellent back-story!
Your use of the Juniper name (again) reminds me of this place, which I used to overlook from Juniper Top, on the north side of Box Hill.

However, I am not confident that a tip would be welcomed here!

As far as I can see (photos & videos) all trucks on your layout now have side mirrors present & correct, so that's one less thing to worry about at least.... 😃👍👍😉
A classic example of the value of a forum! Your knowledge of the trucking business means you look for details many of us might not.

A rare treat indeed to have route knowledge via a diversionary route.
Indeed. ISTR reading that other TOCs are shedding alternative-route knowledge in a bid to cut costs - at Marsham Street's direction, no doubt. Covid really ruined the privatised railway model.

Morning all. Recovering from a weekend taking the FROS 3 requalification course. Two written exams and a lot of practical work, and I lost my left leg to a chainsaw accident. We were also expected to take aspirin for a cardiac event, except everyone on the course was allergic to aspirin. Anyway done for another three years so I can tootle around south east London on a Friday evening, terrifying little old ladies out of their beds.
Thankyou, Bill. People like you save lives. End of message!
Anyway, Good Morning from 1V48, 06.40 Newcastle to Plymouth. After a weekend in Crewe, including a marvellous evening at the Theatre Royal, Hanley, watching Sherry's granddaughter and many other youngsters dancing with English Youth Ballet's version of Sleeping Beauty, we are on our way home to Torquay. Sadly a tree has fallen on the line south of Cheltenham, so we are currently looking at the Severn Bridge! The Tunnel is our way back to England, I believe. Three cheers for the XC driver having route knowledge!

Speaking as you have found about a decoder is actually far more useful in this sort of thread than blanket recommendations only ever to buy Brand X.

That is so true.
My layout is 'exhibition-only' and I always demand a barrier at least 18 inches away from the front of the layout (not for security, just to ensure that viewers get a better, mor natural, view of the layout) but next week I have having a professional photographer do a really professional photo shoot of the layout. He will do real close-up shots and I am really worried that all sorts of flaws which no-one sees at an exhibition will really jump out to you in a decent close-up photo.
No doubt the snapper will be interested in - and helped by - your detailed knowledge of what is on the layout and where. So you direct the angles - and include some close-ups of the little cameos you have no doubt included. He/she will make suggestions, too, but that is when you look to see if it will reveal any bits that are 'less than'.

I'm not more knowledgeable, but would suggest the same. IIRC the S69xxx numbers are on other catering vehicles in emu's, the 4-CEP's for one.
John.
Yes, S69000 was the buffet car in 1956 4-BEP 7001. And a lovely vehicle!
