  1. I think they fixed that issue overnight .
  2. I’ll see you that and raise you a…
  3. I guess modelling often goes in waves of nostalgia . I came back to having a chuff chuff interest because I saw a EWS painted 60 and wondered what happened to all the blue ? This was 96 and the interest hasn’t left me since although it ebbs and flows. Then came the 66s and of course the line at the time was that they would co exist beside the 56s;58s: 37s and 60s - competition wiped that out . Now they the EWS sheds have been with us since 98 they have played a hobby background to half my life - half that saw a marriage, 2 kids , a career on the up…so my memories are kinda woven into that as well…and I’ve got to the age where 1996-2006 was probably my finest times and the world seemed a lot more appealing than it does now ! So the 66s are far from my favourite loco but an unavoidable part of the rich tapestry of life .
  4. I agree. I have 2 Bachmann ones and TBH they ain’t really up to it anymore , apart from being indifferent runners not helped by Hornbys happy shopper TTS chip . I imagine Accura will do all the “ popular “ saleable liveries again . I’m old , so EWS suits me just fine and maybe some original freight liner ones inc 66/6 .
  5. Very nice tugs James . I’m hoping cavalex do a transrail one as I saw a lot in those colours and repainting the wrong grey on Hornby is in my can’t be arsed file !
  6. Fenella has proved 100% reliable . I have 3 fan heaters and thus a small nuclear reactor in the garden to provide the “ lecky”. Am I the only one who names my electrical devices ?
  7. Do all 350s do it ? It’s not a choice as such , it’s where the hydraulics leave the control surface as default on shutdown normally. On the Boeings the flaperons, droop.
  8. Here’s a picture of your workbench, on my work bench ..
  9. It’s rather fortunate Accura took on the 66 with Hattons closing down ! Could have been lost forever
  10. Back to the model version . like a few really hoping a transrail one is released but also eyeing up the EWS. I would be intrigued to know how easy renumbering will be or if that has been thought about - the Hornby ones I can get for about a hundred quid but they are old hat now ( although still a good model ) but a pain to get numbers off reliably
  11. They tried years ago to get rid of them . I’m assuming they are labour intensive , and costly to run compared with the 66s which they are prob still paying the lease payments for . They should maybe have got say 10 x 66/6 when freight liner got theirs. Its a massive shame that the 60s went the same way as the 90s and 92s in never quite getting the use that was forecast
  12. Yes, I think poor social media interaction is worse than none. The impression I got with hattons was they were in way over their head with the 66 which is why it’s best to hand it over to these pros to iron it out .
  13. One thing is certain. When it comes to information and openness Hattons and accurascale are like yin and yang - remember how Hattons went comms silent after they started to have issues with the 66 ? Full of it , till the issues started then , nothing , not a dicky bird. I have 2 31s on orders and I’m confident even if they blow up, the lads at accurascale will see me right !
  14. Nicely done . Those decals must have been a pain on the 67 ….what do you use for the tie down strops on the war flat ?
  15. Tempted to come and see shirebeck, but I’ve just come back from Xmas in the Thames valley . is there much parking there ?
  16. Yes, I’d imagine they’d take 100 as the last designed and built U.K. loco ( if that’s right ?)
  17. Good idea . It seems the smaller manufacturers step in with lot of modern detail like resin stuff and 3D printed . I’m wondering if the scenecraft range has issues with making stuff economically to make a profit but that will sell. some of the stuff is quite pricey now , which is why for things like diesel depots , I’ll get some styrene and make my own
  18. This eternal wishlisting wrapped up as something else gets a bit dull. Now a thread speculating on what was the biggest cock up or commercial failure in model chuffers - that’d be interesting
  19. True , but probably only within a few %. I wonder if Hornby get their act together will TT overtake N ?
  20. Do you mean the paint is applied in the wrong way , or do you mean something wrong with overall shape ? Cos that would affect both
  21. I’ve been moderated once in 15 years . I hereby claim my HRH the King flying Scotsman carriage clock for outstanding behaviour .
  22. Creeping up then, but I’m not sure how accurate any of these are - must be a manufacturers best guess
  23. Aren’t you N gaugers about 10% of the market ? Therefore if you get 10% you should be more than happy
